Where did the idea come from?
My friend Adam is a casual ukulele strummer. While learning his favorite tunes, he often finds himself Googling the same chords over and over.
One afternoon he muttered "I want to hang a chord poster on my wall, but none of them look nice." We wondered, why are ukulele and guitar chord chart posters always so under-designed and basic-looking?
What if we could design a beautifully simple chord chart, that can also stand on its own as a work-of-art? Something pleasing to the eye and informative?
And so, the Ukulele Chord Poster was born.
We need your help making this beautiful ukulele chord poster become a reality. The design is complete. The printing has been spec'd. And now, we're itching to make this happen.
If we reach our funding goal:
We'll print these posters professionally, with an artisan printer, pulling out all the stops: premium French Paper Company stock, silk screened inks, and all done by hand in small, limited runs.
And, you'll be able to own one.
Risks and challenges
The poster design is finished, and the printing has been spec'd. We don't anticipate any additional challenges around the design of the posters, postcards, etc.
We've found a handful of printers we like and trust. We have a good idea of turnaround times, expectations around quality of printing, printing costs, shipping costs, fulfillment costs, etc. Once we have a better idea of exactly how many posters we're printing, we will select our printer.
Our pricing takes into account all sorts of worst case scenarios involving ukulele strummin' deadbeats, the tax man, posters tubes rolling down hillsides, and super-long lines at the post office.
In the event that this project becomes "too successful" we'll be able to hire help packing and shipping posters out, so you can get yours hot off the press.
We've tried to keep the size and scope of this project fairly small, to reduce unknowns. While we have experience designing, printing, packing and shipping posters -- this is our first Kickstarter project.
In the event of paper cuts, we will apply bandaids and avoid lemon juice.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
