In March of 2009 we opened a tiny little neighborhood pizza joint called Atomic Pizza. We wanted something small that we could manage on our own as we started out. It was clear by our first year that we really needed a larger space. We wanted more room to grow, but we did not want to leave the community that had supported us from the day we opened. We kept our ears open for spaces, but nothing really happened. Then out of nowhere, we received a phone call from someone we highly respect and look up to, Pat DiPrima. She had decided to close her bakery and wanted us to move into her building and as she put it, "keep the building in the family". This is an amazing opportunity for us to not only be in a larger space, in our community, one block from our original shop, but also to own the building. A building that is 4 times the space that we are currently in.
We are raising funds through Kickstarter to help with moving costs, build out, new equipment, furniture as well as new permits and licensing. The building is already a great space, with a lot of the requirements needed to be a restaurant, but there are things that we would need to do to make it Atomic Pizza. We plan on changing the dinning area to include some counter seating and ideally we'd love to expand the dinning area so we can better serve large groups, like our little league team, private parties and bigger and better events for local non-profits and area schools. We'll need more furniture for the dinning room and the amazing outside garden patio. We also will need bigger, hotter ovens and more equipment as we plan to expand our menu a bit. And then there are all the new licensees and permits like building, city, signage, OLCC and the health department.
We hope our rewards encourage you to pledge and pledge big. With Kickstarter it's an all or nothing deal. If we are even $1 short of our goal, we don't get any of it. We thought long and hard about what our goal should be and decided on $32,500. This will be a huge help for us to get the new space ready. If we are lucky enough to exceed our goal we have big ideas on how to spend the funds to make the space that much better for you all to use.

Risks and challenges
We don't expect any delays in opening the new shop, but whenever you are dealing with permits and licensing, there is always a chance. We are not doing major renovations so any delays would be minimal and dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Our plan is to keep our current shop open until the new space is ready. We know that with every growth process there are risks and challenges, but we think everything through very thoroughly and make steps appropriately. We believe this is the right move for us to better serve our customers and community. We've been working with local banks and funders and everyone is very supportive. We will make this happen and you can help.
Our apparel rewards for pledges are being locally printed by and embroidered by a small business, Echo Printworks and they are ready to get the items out quickly. The pizza rewards will be hot and ready when you order them. We've been serving pizzas for 5 years and plan on doing it for many, many more.
