We are so blessed and honored that you are considering joining us in this venture! From the Wilderness is Many Sparrows' second full-length album, specifically benefitting the orphans and refugees in Kurdistan, with 100% of proceeds going to Love for the Least. Keep reading for more of our history and the heart behind this project!
Daniel and I (Asia) have been writing songs and leading worship together for over 10 years, and it truly is one of the great passions of our lives. From Sunday morning services to prayer sets to just sitting in our living room, leading others into the presence of God through original songs and spontaneous worship is a privilege and a joy. We also have a heart for missions and the least reached, and have been amazed to see how God works these two passions together. During a trip to Nepal last year, we were able to lead a songwriting workshop with a group of Nepali worship leaders; it was powerful! To hear them create an original song in their own language by the end of the meeting, despite many of them never having tried to write a song before, was so rewarding. Daniel also got to lead a follow-up workshop at the local YWAM base in Kathmandu, and it was a very fruitful time. We love to be able to share what God has placed in us with the body of Christ!
In terms of recordings, we released our first full-length album, The Heights, in 2012, and then turned our focus to collaborative projects, such as the Unveiled by Freedom Song, and Unity Songs by the Denton Worship Collective, released in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Then last year our good friends Jerry and Stacy Kramer urged us to make another album of our own songs, and we are so thankful to be working with them to make it a reality!
The vision for this album is to give 100% of the profits beyond cost of production to Jerry and Stacy's ministry, Love for the Least. They do amazing work with the Yezidi orphans and refugees from ISIS in the Middle East. They just completed an orphan initiative, and now have over 360 orphans in their care who have been living in the tents in Kurdistan for over 4 years. They are moving towards acquiring an abandoned facility in Camp Sandy for trauma counseling, art and play therapy, medical care, and more. In addition to this, they are also providing medical care, job training and English classes to the adults and young people living in the camp, bringing hope to those who have been through so much. We are heading overseas to see their work firsthand in August/September, and to worship with and pray over the refugees!
The money you give to this campaign will enable us to record the album at Cafe Solo Studios in Denton, complete with mixing and mastering, and do a physical print of the CD's. We will also have the super talented Mich Polan providing percussion on the album, and our dear friends Matt and Tyra Haley adding bass, flute, keys and more. It's going to be a labor of love, full of songs that detail the pain of going through a wilderness season, and coming into a fuller understanding of the home we have in Christ. He is truly our peace, our rest and our everlasting joy. Apart from Him we can do nothing! In the event that we exceed our goal, all of the extra Kickstarter funds will go directly to Jerry and Stacy's ministry, and 100% of every album sold will always go to them as well. Thank you so much for giving, and helping us to bless the least with the love of Christ!

Risks and challenges
As we are traveling to Kurdistan at the end of August through part of September, we may be a bit delayed in shipping out the September rewards. However, our goal is to have them all out by the end of September, and Lord willing that is exactly what will happen! :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
