Risks and challenges
In previous projects we took on the dispatching ourselves. This time around, we plan to outsource this to a company who will efficiently handle, process and ship all the books for us. We began working with them in our last project, and they've provided an excellent service.
The files are at the printers, way ahead of time, and the printer's finger is poised, ready to smash the 'Start' button on the conveyor belt and get these rolling off the presses as soon as the campaign finishes. As a result, delays are very unlikely, unless the printers are attacked by sea-bandits. Unfortunately, as the printers are based in Cornwall, pirate attacks remain an inescapable possibility.
Each country's postage has been calculated ahead of time to avoid any hiccups there. To the very pound, this is the cost to ship to our lovely but rather heavy book to each individual country. We've also decided only to ship to countries that we know handle the parcels well. We want this to arrive in the best possible condition. If we do not ship to certain countries, it is because we have faced difficulties with those destinations in the past. Well, not quite. I mean, we've never shipped to Antarctica, the reason why countries such as Antarctica, Andorra etc are missing is because we suspect we might not be able to deliver to these areas.
This is our third project now, so we consider ourselves pretty experienced with this stuff. After projects end, we take it upon ourselves to make sure that if any outstanding problems are resolved.
