Thank you for this beautiful remembrance.
Thanks so much for this post. I didn't know about her passing. I remember reading Dreamsnake when it first came out and loving it. We are losing our elders, but I'm so grateful for all they've given us.
Her work was and is central to my thought. I am rereading it again as I hear this news. I am grateful she didn't suffer long and was surrounded by love as she left. Thank you Arwen for sharing more than what I learned from NY Times obit.
The Seattle community is reeling with this loss. I knew Vonda, not well, but I cherish that friendship so. She was one of the finest. Brilliant, kind, articulate, caring. We will never recover. I am so glad she was part of our lives.
Dreamsnake blew my mind! Somewhere in my being, that satchel of snakes is still part of my deepest resources. I didn't know she and Ursula were friends, but I might have guessed. I bless the day that I decided to read science fiction only by women!
