Update: hey! It looks like we reached goal #.5!
Pinky 2020 bumper stickers will be a "thingie"
A reminder about how Kickstarter works!
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!
With 7 days to go, WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!!!!!! But why stop there? And so we announce our first Stretch Goal! (and a half!) See in the FAQ section "What is a Stretch Goal?"
Stretch Goal #1/2: Hey! Wait just a gal-durn minute! You already have announced a stretch goal! What's with this HALF of a stretch goal????
Okay...well...um.... I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a Pinky Bumper sticker so I'm going to add a "PRE-stretch goal" Ha ha! So, if we get to $4200, everyone who has pledged at the Wu-Self Set level* and above, will get the Pinky 2020 Bumper Sticker. (*Or if you have pledged $46 or higher for any reward) EVERYONE will get a bumper sticker when we reach $4800 in total pledges. Does that make sense?
Stretch Goal #1A: if we reach $4800 in pledges, EVERYONE who pledges at the Patch level or above, will receive Pinky's 2020 cubpaign bumper sticker! (You KNEW Pinky would not be able to keep her paws off this cubpaign, right?)
Have your way wif Wu!
I did my first Panda Chronicle pin project on a whim. Would anyone want enameled pins of the characters I draw every week? Turns out that you did! Huzzah! Now I, and a whole bunch of other folks, are walking around wearing Pinky, Bubba, and Ping Ping pins!
Now, we are on the third pin and patch project, featuring the Real Mr. Wu and the Panda Kindergarten in their fabulous Fezmobile!
When I did the previous project, I started small (Bubba's pin) and when the project funded in the first 3 hours, I added the Ping Ping pin and the Bubba and Friends patch. Let me tell you, it got really confusing! People adding more rewards, changing categories, changing pledge amounts. Yikes! Way too confusing!
And last, but hardly least, the Wu the Pirate Patch:
So, you might notice that there are multiple reward levels, and a higher goal that we need to reach before ANYTHING gets produced. But you guys sailed past this expanded goal amount within the first few days last time, so I have no doubt you will give it the old panda try this time too!
All the pins are enameled and covered with an epoxy coating, which gives them a little extra bling! They come to you on cards designed for each edition of the pins, adding a little extra pandy goodness to the presentation. The patches are made using a woven technique which provides intricate details in the final patch!
I DO have a couple of fun stretch goals in mind, but they will be things that I will add on for everyone who pledges at the pin level and above! Cool huh? Stay tuned and all will be revealed once we meet our goal!
Once again, you can always add on extra pins and Mr. Wu patches. Just check out the FAQs or message me for details on how to do that!
Risks and challenges
As with all projects on Kickstarter, the full funding goal needs to be reached before the project can be funded and go forward. Unlike the previous projects, where I added one additional item at a time, as I reached the initial goal and stretch goals, this time ALL the levels are being added at the beginning, so all pandas rise or fail on reaching our goal.
There are, of course, a million things that can go wrong with any project, but as this is the third project I've done with the Panda Chronicles pins, and each time more people were willing to support this project, I feel confident that you will this time too.
I've tried to build some time cushions into the process, and having worked with the same pin fabricator each time, I am comfortable with the quality of the product and the timeline.
The one difference is that I am starting with 3 production pieces, which triples the amount I need to have the project happen at all. We far surpassed even this amount for the previous project, and by announcing all the possible pins and patches in advance, I hope to avoid some of the confusion that happened last time!
I will keep you informed every step of the way, and I'm happy to tell you that both of the first two projects went out earlier than promised in the reward timelines.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
