For those of us who could use a little clarification on available rewards and pricing for add ons!
We are so happy to see how many of you are responding enthusiastically to the growing collection of pins (and patches!) We achieved all of our stretch goals and there is still over a week and a half to go, so if you know someone who might be interested in our pins do let them know about us, or you weren't aware that you could now get Ping Ping's pin and the Bubba & Friends patch, this update is for you!
If you would like ADDITIONAL pins or patches (For instance you would like 2 each of the pins or additional patches) the table below tells you how much you should add to your pledge to get additional items. If any of this is unclear, please feel free to MESSAGE me here (rather than using the public comment function) and I will do my best to help you. You should also message me to let me know which extra options you have selected. There will be an additional opportunity to make sure you are getting what you want when I send out the surveys after the project closes!
Needless to say, I'll try to make this less complicated when I do Mr. Wu's pin and patch project in July! Every project teaches me something new!
Additional items may be added to any reward tier.
- Simply click the "Manage Pledge" button at the top of the project page (or when you hover over your already selected reward).
- Next, add one or more of the following items and its corresponding monetary amount to your pledge: (see table above)
- Add the additional amount to the $ amount already listed in the $$ field of the Manage your Pledge page
Examples of how to figure add ons:
Your order: Pinky and Bubba $34 (including US shipping) Add Ping Ping (+$15) Total= $49 (including US shipping) Your initial order will have already added shipping for your initial order. (unless you are getting more than 3 items, in which case add on the additional shipping)
Let's do this!!!
Since Bubba was a small panda cubby, he was breaking the cute-o-meter
I adore all the artist designed pins that are out in the world now, and after the warm reception Pinky's pin received from her fans around the world, I knew that it was Bubba's turn. The pin design is from the cartoon I made when he got his official outfit.
Princess Pinky's pin was a huge success!
Her pins were completed on schedule, and went marching around the world, brandishing her magical wand (what have I done?!?!?!)Because the project got such a great response, I was able to order some extra stock, part of which I offer here, and part of which is being saved so that I can offer complete sets at a later date. Here's what the finished pin looks like on it's card:
What pandas and the Panda Chronicles mean to me...
In the 10 years or so that I've been drawing the Panda Chronicles, the characters that inhabit the panda universe have become real to me. Everyone needs imaginary friends, am I right? Drawing pandas brings me great happiness, especially in hard times. What has brought me even more happiness is that you, my beloved readers and friends find comfort and fun in my panda world too.
Enameled Pins Designed by Artists (including me!)
I've seen a number of artist designed pins lately, and I have also collected pins produced by the DC Hard Rock Cafe depicting the DC pandas (Designed by panda friend extraordinaire, Cyndi Anderson). So, of course, I started thinking about designing my own pins, and of course I thought about all of the fans of the Panda Chronicles wearing them and getting that burst of happiness from thinking about (and wearing) pandas.
In case you need an introduction of how Kickstarter works...
Risks and challenges
As a one woman creative business, I have to be very careful to balance my time so that the majority of my productive hours are spent in the studio, whether I am painting for the galleries I show my work at, creating panda satire, or writing and illustrating for children.
For this reason, I offer these pins in a short time frame and in limited numbers. Once I've ordered the pins, I won't be doing repeat orders. My goal is to have enough people be interested in having these mementos of the Panda Chronicles, which helps to support the time and $$ it takes to keep The Panda Chronicles going. It's a lot like the public radio model where the content (like my cartoons on the blog)is put out into the world with no restrictions on who listens, and then several times a year, they ask for listeners to support them.
Finding a good production partner as well as sourcing for packaging and labels is essential. Pin Game Strong, who produce the pins, are great to work with.
I try to over estimate the time it will take to get the pins from production, to packaging them and out to you, so that you will be pleasantly surprised when they arrive early! Still, the unexpected can happen to slow things down and I thank you in advance for understanding the limitations of being a one person empire.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
