The brainchild of miniature painters and industry professionals, Artis Opus Series S Brushes are beautifully realised and presented, featuring ergonomics to improve every painter’s hobby experience. Series S use only the highest grade pure Kolinsky Sable, with a rigorously tested and adapted head, designed to hold a perfect point, while having enough body to carry more paint than shorter designs.
Formed by experienced artists with an eye for ergonomic design, Artis Opus combines premium quality, durability and elegance. We use only the finest components in our products making us the natural choice for both aspirational and leading painters.
The precision of our points should allow painters to use a larger brush than would normally be practical, greatly improving speed and resulting in a more enjoyable painting experience. Our larger handle is also designed to be both distinctive and practical. Users will easily adjust to the increased width, and then benefit from the comfort, avoiding ‘painter’s cramp’, and allowing to paint for longer.
Now unlocked: Every backer will receive a Kickstarter exclusive brass "Primis" plaque in their boxe(s). This plaque is only available for Kickstarter backers making each set from the Series S & Artis Opus launch even more special.
The most important part of every brush, Series S brush-heads are made from the highest grade
Kolinsky Sable, shaped uniquely to hold a perfect point, and with a larger body (belly) to
hold more paint. Our Kolinsky Sable has a nice ‘snap’ in order to keep that tip throughout
use, and also allow for greater control.
Ferrule: Classic is best. There is no need to reinvent the wheel here – ours is simple yet elegant.
Handle: Our beautiful broad handles take little adjustment for an artist to adapt to, as they more readily work with the hand’s physiology and natural grip when compared with a slimmer brush. This distinct change increases comfort and control, and should also reduce the chance of painter’s cramp. All of this allows users to paint for longer, and results in a more enjoyable painting experience.
Box: Picked for its simplicity and beauty, our box is both classic and practical. It is able to withstand the wear sustained in travel or transport, while keeping your brushes secure and safe. Our unique foam insert firmly grips brushes. Widened chambers along with grippy brush protectors ensure that the brush-heads are kept in pristine condition.
Soap: Handmade like our brushes, our soap gently cleans and conditions brushes, removing even the most stubbornly ingrained paint. Bergamot scented; so they will even end up smelling half way between lemon and lime!

Production has already begun for a number of brush sets, but we simply don't know what the demand will be for this project. It is likely that the first batch will disappear fast, and further batches will take a little longer to produce. Therefore we have decided to give early backers a head-start, in the form of limited "early shipping" pledge levels.
It is essential that every brush set is the highest of quality. Higher volume will require further production runs and will mean longer production lead-times, as well as a longer quality control process. Simply put, the earlier you pledge, the earlier you get your brushes.
Here at Artis Opus we understand the importance of supporting FLGS (Friendly Local Gaming Stores). Our retailer pledge is designed to provide independent stockists with everything they need to start selling Series S.
We will be verifying each retail backer to ensure legitimacy (must own brick and mortar gaming store), and emailing further details upon campaign closure.
All retailers will receive an invoice.
Please note that UK retailers will be charged an additional 20% in the pledge manager because of VAT.

Risks and challenges
Transitioning a product from the mind of the designers into the hands of backers involves planning and coordination between design, logistics and various manufacturers in order to deliver on schedule. We have spent the last 12 months testing and refining both the product and the supply chain.
Although a new company, the team behind Artis Opus have a large amount of collective industry experience, as well as long standing relationships with key manufacturing partners. The product itself has been tested by some of the best artists across in the world.
Since we already have several prototypes (which you might have already seen at AdeptiCon or Salute), we believe risk is low. One of the biggest challenges will be maintaining quality with increase in volume. Steps are being put in place to ensure every set is top quality. One of the team will personally check and sign off every set that is posted with this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
