About this project
Corrupted Kingdoms is a 30-60 minute light strategy game of intrigue and political machinations for 2-6 players set in a seemingly-ideal fantasy realm. In Corrupted Kingdoms, you play one of six monstrous Corporations vying for control of the realm’s noble government.
Muster your Minions of goblins, golems, devils, and zombies. Send them to pressure leaders, control votes, and pass corrupt Bills full of special interest favors. And be rewarded with decadent Guilty Pleasures!
But be on guard - other players are working with similar groups and are just as motivated to promote their own nefarious agendas. Only the most successful corporation will rule the realm!
Corrupted Kingdoms was designed by Raymond Chandler III and Dirk Knemeyer over several years and has been through through hundreds of play tests. We’ve outlined the project here on Kickstarter and we're sure that you’ll enjoy the game. If you’re the type of voter who prefers even more information, feel free to also check out our Print-and-Play files for a more detailed look at the Corrupted Kingdoms rules and its components.
Scrappy Preview gives a drawn overview of the game:
In Corrupted Kingdoms, two to six players compete to score points by passing bills and collecting opulent rewards. Each turn, players take two actions, selecting from among the three available actions in the game:
Select a special interest Favor from the market. Decide whether to take its Minions from the special interest or add that Favor to a Bill.
Send your Minions to influence and take control of a Leader. If another player already controls that leader, well, politics can be messy!
Call for a vote on a Bill in any kingdom where you control a leader. Lobby your competitors, cajole, threaten, and cut deals to pass your Bill! If you don't buy the vote, someone else will!
Reap your reward and enjoy decadent Guilty Pleasures for successfully passing your Bills. After all, who wouldn't love a Giant Panda Cloak this winter?
Throughout the game, use the special abilities of your particular company's Chaos Cards to pursue your nefarious goals and thwart your opponents!
The player who most successfully pursues their corporate and special interest agenda wins and rules the realm! For more information, you can also check out the latest complete rules.
UPDATE: We're modifying stretch goals to include social media goals which should hopefully add some spice to the last week of the campaign!
Corrupted Kingdoms will be manufactured in China. Copies will then be sent to our fulfillment partner depots in various regions around the world for ultimate distribution to backers. This saves you on shipping and extra taxes.
We're also offering a $10 shipping discount to our Kickstarter backers for individual pledge levels which makes shipping 100% free to the United States and relatively less expensive elsewhere.
We recognize that even with these discounts, shipping to many parts of the world is just plain expensive. We can't change this, but we can try to make it easier for our backers in these areas to join the project and receive their rewards. To this end, we've created Base Bundle and Deluxe Bundle pledge levels each containing three copies of the Base Game or Deluxe Edition respectively that will fulfill as one shipment. Because the three copies are shipped together in one box, shipping in this manner is less expensive than backing three individual copies of the game separately. So feel free to join with your friends, meet your neighbors, and collaborate in your communities to get your copies, and we'll make sure you get them.
Given our strategy of shipping to regional fulfillment depots, various countries will receive their copies at different times. Historically, backers in Asia and the Pacific receive their copies soonest since they are nearest to our manufacturer, then the U.S. and western Europe are relatively close together, and finally backers in the rest of the world receive theirs. We anticipate that all backers will receive their copies by September 2016, but most of you will receive your copies sooner. We'll keep you posted with more details via regular updates as we move forward into production and fulfillment.
Finally, we also plan to offer Gen Con pickup for backers. The summer con season is very important for us. Once the games arrive in the United States, we'll commence fulfillment for U.S. backers and also begin to sell at conventions. We realize that this may occur before some backers, particularly those in more remote locales, have received their games and we're offering Gen Con pickup to give people more fulfillment options as a result. We'll provide more details about this via updates closer to Gen Con. We hope you understand and still chose to support our project!
Artana is committed to supporting our retail partners. We’re offering wholesale pricing to verified stores and other gaming establishments. We treat you like other backers, but you will receive your rewards ahead of other normal distributions channels. If you are a verifiable retailer, please contact us through Kickstarter or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about how to pledge at this level.

We can't offer you a Panda Cloak, but we do have more guilty pleasures to entice you with while we work on fulfilling your rewards for Corrupted Kingdoms. You can find these and other Artana loot at local retailers or order directly from us online.
Risks and challenges
As with all Kickstarter projects, there are risks outside our control that could slow down delivery of the project - shipping or customs delays, acts of God, and rampaging Minions about the Realm. However, our team at Artana has finalized almost all of the art, components, and design of Corrupted Kingdoms. We've tested it, retested it, given it love, and are ready to send the game to print as soon as the campaign is over. Through Artana and its predecessor, Conquistador, we have successfully delivered seven Kickstarter campaigns and know how to quickly and accurately fulfill pledges for our backers. We believe that the process of delivering Corrupted Kingdoms to our backers will be smooth and seamless, and should result in your having a great game in your hands within our shipping timeframe.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
