Boy, I Love You is a comics anthology celebrating the boys' love genre. Six stories from six creators will introduce you to radio hosts, models, mecha pilots, & vampires, and the challenges they’ll face at the intersection of life & love.
BILU will be a 196-page black & white, perfect-bound paperback book, and we need your help to commit all these smooches to print!
This book proudly features stories from Kou Chen, Aatmaja Pandya, Stephanie Bailey, Emily Forster, Marlena Konglau, & Eric Alexander Arroyo, with a cover designed and illustrated by Caelin Cacciatore.
We aim to depict genuine relationships with a dash of fantasy, highlighting everything we love about BL: melodrama, cute bods, and boys who are allowed to live and love outside a fixed idea of masculinity.
Boy, I Love You is edited by Kou Chen, Emily Forster, and Eric Alexander Arroyo, three brofriends who went to SVA and Disney World together.
We’re curating our own collection of boys’ love stories to celebrate the positive influence that BL has had on us, while forgoing some of the genre’s more unsavory tropes. We also hope to bring our sensibilities as queer creators to the book, while respecting BL’s history as a platform for romantic fantasy created by women.
While some stories in Boy, I Love You include sexually suggestive situations, there will be no explicit sexual imagery or full-frontal nudity. We aim to make this book appropriate for older teen audiences.
We’ve been working closely with our hand-picked contributors to put together a book we’d be proud of. While all contributors are being compensated for their hard work, crowdfunding would allow us to pay our talent what they deserve. If we reach our goal, our contributors will receive a substantial bonus to their page rates. Us editors are also contributing stories to the anthology, but we’re doing this as a labor of love.
Crowdfunding will also help us to bring you a much higher quality book, offset printed by our partners at PrintNinja!
By supporting this Kickstarter, you’ll help make this all possible. Here’s a breakdown of what all pledges will go towards:
All of our reward tiers offer items that we have experience producing. Each reward will be printed and packaged with love, and blessed with thankful smooches of good luck from our team, so that it may arrive at your doorstep unharmed.
Special thanks to Sarah Elias & all of our parents for all their support, and to Taneka Stotts & Molly Ostertag for their priceless assistance.

Risks and challenges
While we’re well on-schedule to get this project to our printer, we can’t rule out the possibility of delays from the overseas printing process. We’re confident about our ability to solve any problems that might arise, and will provide consistent updates about the book’s production as we go.
Although this is our first time producing a book of this size, our team has years of self-publishing experience on various projects that will help to make this process run as smooth as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
