STRETCH GOAL #1
1350 Backers - if we reach 1350 backers, we will produce another series of behind-the-scenes featurettes to include with the digital, DVD and Bluray editions of the film.
STRETCH GOAL #2
$80,000 - if we reach $80,000 we will hire a writer to put together a draft of Mythica 4, based on our existing notes and the feedback we've received on the Mythica series thus far.
STRETCH GOAL #3
$90,000 - if we reach $90,000 we will send ALL BACKERS a free copy of ORCS!, our very first fantasy film we ever made. It's a really good time. Here's the trailer link to Orcs!:
Mythica is the most ambitious indie fantasy project ever undertaken. We shot three feature films, back-to-back, from October 2013 to March 2014, with several more films in the Mythica series planned.
Mythica 1: A Quest for Heroes, has been completed and all rewards have been shipped to our wonderful Kickstarter Backers.
And now, we're super excited to share Mythica 2: The Darkspore with you. It is even bigger, better and more epic than the first film.
Here's a quick word from the creators of Mythica:

Here is a trailer for Mythica 1:
The Mythica series follows the adventures of Marek, a wizard born with the dark power of necromancy, as she learns to harness the power that threatens to corrupt her. She recruits a team of adventurers to battle Szorlok, the legendary Necromancer, and thwart his goal of uniting the four shards of the Darkspore to unleash an undead plague on the land.
When Teela’s sister is murdered and a powerful relic stolen, Marek and her friends face a sinister new enemy - Kishkumen, a foreign mystic bent on reclaiming the Darkspore for his master Szorlok. Armed with twin maps, Marek and her team race Kishkumen and his horde through creature-infested lands, to a long abandoned underground city – all the while pursued by bounty hunters intent on returning Marek to slavery.
Joined by the mysterious dark-elf warrior – Qole – the team journeys deep underground to discover that the ruined city is now home to an undead dragon. Trapped between Kishkumen and the dragon, Marek and her team must employ all their skill and magic to battle the beast, and combat Kishkumen for their hard won treasure and their lives.
Melanie Stone plays Marek, a natural-born necromancer with a club foot. Stone is a brilliant new actress, with Mythica marking her first starring role, having played supporting roles in Christmas for a Dollar and Survivor. Since filming Mythica, she has starred in The Christmas Dragon, and He Knows My Name.
Kevin Sorbo makes his long-awaited return to the fantasy genre as Gojun Pye, legendary wizard and mentor to Marek. Kevin is best known for his starring roles in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Kull the Conqueror and Andromeda.
Adam Johnson plays Thane, a grizzled warrior and veteran of many wars. Adam can be seen in a myriad of projects, including the Veronica Mars movie, Dexter, Vamp U, Orc Wars and the upcoming release, Dragon Warriors.
Jake Stormoen stars as Dagen, a half-elf rogue. Like Melanie, Jake is a rapidly rising newcomer to the screen, but has spent years of his life immersed in fantasy role-playing games... so that also counts, right? Since Mythica, he has gone on to starring roles in Cyborg X, The Christmas Dragon and War Pigs.
Nicola Posener plays Teela, a priestess of the Order of Ana-Sett. Arrowstorm fans will recognize her from her starring role in Dawn of the Dragonslayer, while she has also starred in several British films and TV series, including Disney's House of Anubis.
Rocky Myers play Qole, a mysterious Dark Elf warrior. Rocky is a very talented actor who has starred in previous Arrowstorm films Survivor and Cyborg X. You can also catch him in the action-thriller Safari and the kids adventure, RoboRex.
Matthew Mercer plays Szorlok, the Dark Lord - making his first appearance in the Mythica franchise, with many more sinister deeds to come. Matthew is a talented actor, and voice artist, best known for his voice work in countless franchises... basically, if you've played a video game, you've heard Matthew.
The film is already shot, and we are hard at work on post-production. Sound, music and VFX are all underway. But we still have a TON of visual effects shots to pull off - whole green-screen sequences, dragon sequences, etc. We want the movie to be as good as it can be, so every extra dollar we can get helps us make the movie more awesome. Which brings us to you... we need your support to grow our VFX budget and allow us to actually get this done.
Backers pledge an amount and choose a reward. At the end of our 30-day Kickstarter campaign, if the combined total of all pledges for our project meets our $75,000 goal, then the credit cards of those who pledge are charged and we receive the funds to finish our film. If we don't meet our goal, then the money is not withdrawn from your account and no rewards are provided :(. If we exceed our $75,000 goal then the extra funds will be used to make the movie even better - so keep pledging! All funds raised are used directly in the finishing of this film.
We're not looking for charity, we're looking for an early sales venue - that's why our rewards reflect fair market value. Don't think of it as a donation, think of it as a pre-purchase. If you want to see this film, buy it now through Kickstarter - you'll probably get a better deal from us than from whatever retailer ends up selling it in your country, and you'll help make our film better!
As the campaign progresses, we'll add some more fun rewards - unique props, etc as additional incentives.
We've sent Mythica: A Quest for Heroes (the first film in the series) out to a few reviewers and have received some stellar feedback:
We're a small group of independent filmmakers who love making movies, and have been at it for about a decade. It's our full-time job, and every film we have made has received worldwide distribution. We do pretty much everything ourselves, from conception to financing to production to securing distribution. We love fantasy and science fiction and know there are others out there like us, who we aim to please. Click on a name to see our IMDB profiles:
Risks and challenges
Film is a complicated technical exercise, and often unforeseen difficulties arise, causing budget and scheduling overruns - particularly when complex visual effects are involved. That being said, we are an experienced group and have successfully completed and released every film we have started. We have produced several visual effects heavy projects in the past, and see no reason why we shouldn't continue to accomplish our goals.
On the plus side, this film is largely complete. A great deal of the risk in the project has already been mitigated, and we are too far along to turn back and give up. We are seeking funding to complete a visual effects sequence, and have the personnel to pull it off, regardless of complications.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
