A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
The "Aroo mini bar" is the small, lightweight yet strong, rechargeable vacuum compressor that allows you to pack more. It is a system with included adapters for any retail vacuum storage bag. The second generation adapter replaces the bag's cap (if you choose) - the adapter has it's own leak proof seal.
The "Aroo mini bar" was designed with travel in mind. It's shape fits conveniently and easily into any suitcase, bag, backpack or purse. It's contours tucks perfectly along the inside edge of any suitcase - into space that is typically goes unused. There's never a problem including the Aroo mini bar on any travel destination. The Aroo is about the length of the average hand, 16cm, and fits comfortably in the palm.
Again, travel is the Aroo mini bar's specialty and the light weight is a top priority. Coming in at 116g or 4 oz - it's so easy to take with you!
Along the developmental line of the Aroo product - the company has been able to work with a mechanical engineer from a fortune 500 electrical supply company and obtain the perfect size, weight and performance motor. When searching for a powerful vacuum, a traveler has two options: 1) toss this little Aroo into your bag or 2) use your vacuum at home and try to find a hotel vacuum to borrow to get home. Said another way, Aroo can crush a metal paint can....see below :)
Enough talking...let's get to it! :)
Place a vacuum bag adapter, charge the Aroo...
Load your stuff and remove the fluff!

The first generation adapter relied on a passive type seal - good but not as perfect as we want it to be. Then, designed exclusively for the Aroo mini bar, the low profile ACTIVE seal adapter was developed. This type of seal means the adapter will outperform any vacuum bag seal. It is a true replacement for any screw cap on a vacuum storage bag. As a demonstration, we purposefully cut a hole into a vacuum bag and placed the adapter over the new hole. Hours and days later, no vacuum pressure has been lost. NICE! :)
Aroo is small and light - but is there a way to see how much power it offers? We challenged Aroo with a steel metal paint can - in short the can never had a chance! We've never observed a paint can implode before and we were quite surprised that it doesn't crush slowly and evenly but with sudden "pops" and "bangs".... Enjoy! :)
A very special thank you to:

Mike McConaghy - Eravox Studios Best music, love the beat! :)
Risks and challenges
Since this product has never been mass produced, we face the challenge of being the first to market with a new technology. We may run into into manufacturing hurdles along the way - finding the right partners, as well as meeting production, assembly and shipping deadlines. The good news is that we gave ourselves plenty of time to do these things and do them right. Any hiccups that do arise will swiftly be dealt with and overcome in a timely manner. Backers are responsible for possible custom/vat charges.
