Quest Fallen: A retro style MMORPG (Web/Android/Ouya)
Quest Fallen is an old-school RPG updated with newer MMO features. Play with your same account info on the web, Android and/or Ouya.
Only two weeks left so I figured I'd try updating the project page a little bit more. There is still a lot of work to do, but the newly added video shows some current gameplay for the web version. The video is just walking around a map, fighting a monster and entering a dungeon.
You won't be crestfallen while playing Quest Fallen!
Quest Fallen is an upcoming, multi-platform, massive multiplayer online role playing game for browser, Android and the upcoming Ouya console. It will feature classic top down rpg gameplay with mmo features like guilds/clans, chat/messaging and PvP arenas. There will be an extensive map to explore with multiple dungeons in the beginning. New content and quests will be continually added and updated to keep you coming back.
Who's behind Quest Fallen?
Ariah Studios, aka Zeke Walker (that's me!). Ariah Studios was recently formed to take my passion for games to the next level. I have always loved playing and creating games of all kinds. I created an open source rpg game engine project back in 2004 named World of Phaos which is still available, however I am no longer actively developing it. I have also created and currently maintain two mmo strategy games, Command Crisis and Command Crisis: Endgame, available through browser and Android. I am a very active and involved developer when it comes to my games. I believe player feedback and ideas are vital to making a great game. I'm a programmer; so graphics and artwork have always been limited in what I can offer. My goal for using Kickstarter for Quest Fallen is to expand and improve the quality of my new venture. I would love to create something with more processing power, full 2D maps, combat and more original artwork then I could afford before.
Where's the money going?
Since Quest Fallen is an mmorpg instead of a standalone single player game, a portion of the goal money is budgeted for upfront server costs, along with server costs to keep the game running so you don't have to worry about the game being shut down. Another sizable portion will be used for original artwork and graphics. The last portion will go towards additional programming assistance to help speed up development and make sure Quest Fallen be a release day game for Ouya.
What happens over the funding goal?
All additional funding above and beyond the funding goal will go towards making Quest Fallen even better! More artwork which means more equipment, monsters, etc. An original soundtrack would also be possible if funding is high enough.
Still on the fence about funding Quest Fallen?
Head on over to my website, www.AriahStudios.com and check out my current games. I'm proud of my current work and I am confident that with your assistance, I can make Quest Fallen even better!
What stage in development is Quest Fallen at?
The game is somewhat playable right now on browsers. It is still VERY buggy and the core game engine is the top priority right now. After the major bugs have been worked out then we will focus on creating the main content such as maps, quests, etc. Then we will move onto the layout and control changes needed to better fit Android phones/tablets and of course Ouya too.
Will Quest Fallen be available on Ouya?
Yes! Ariah Studios is a dev backer of Ouya and therefore should be receiving a console before the public launch. We plan to have the game ready for the official Ouya launch, but since we have not actually seen or worked with the console yet we cannot guarantee this 100%.
What platforms will Quest Fallen be released for?
Quest Fallen will be playable on all major web browsers, Android and Ouya. You will also be able to play using the same account on all platforms as well.
