Flying a drone has never been easier and capturing aerial content has never been more fun.
Ares makes it easier than any drone on the market to fly and capture high resolution aerial photos and video. In just three easy steps, you can plan your flight and launch Ares.
Once you press the launch button in the app, the drone will follow your drawn flight path and capture high resolution photos or video. While the drone is landing itself, the app will automatically download the content you just captured (Ares HD & 4K only). Then, take the content and share it anywhere, all from one device.
Our cameras are based on the Qualcomm Dragonboard SOC with Sony sensors.

Our drones communicate with your iOS device using a bridge that converts wifi to 900mhz (415mhz in europe) for command and control. The Ares HD and 4k will have a higher frequency radio, in addition, for streaming video. This will give the Ares System a much longer range, up to or over 1 mile. Video transfer will happen via Wifi when the drone returns to wifi range.
At Ares, we take safety very seriously. Since our drones are driven by an app, we can visualize nearby flight restrictions right on the map. This gives users the ability to make more informed flight decisions even before they take off. If a flight path is accidentally drawn through a no-fly zone, the app will alert you. Our app also keeps an eye on the weather by providing recommendations based on current wind speed and other factors.
The best part is that as regulations evolve, we will just push an update to make sure you have the most current information.
In Flight Controls
Ares will come with emergency return to home and emergency land buttons. If you lose site of your drone you will be able to make it immediately return to home. Alternatively if there is an issue with your flight path for any reason you will be able to send the drone into a self guided landing sequence, you will guide the landing location through the use of onscreen buttons.
We have over 20 years of experience in software development, product development, and interface design. Sherwyn is the code mastermind, Justin makes sure our drones actually fly, and Ben wraps a user interface around it all.
The following video was an app test with our very first prototype. The drone is under complete control from the app, movements like these are extremely difficult to do with a manual controller.
We take every pledge seriously, and in return, we will pledge our commitment to every backer. We commit to providing continuous communication. Through monthly updates and regular online forums, we will provide short presentations on progress. This is also a time for us to gather valuable feedback and answer your questions. We are also staggering the release of our models to help ensure a timely delivery. Our commitment is to treat each and every backer not as a customer, but as a partner.
Risks and challenges
The biggest hurdle for Ares is timing. We have been moving at an extremely fast pace and are confident that we can continue to do so. However, sometimes the unexpected can happen, and challenges will arise. The largest challenge will be maintaining our rigorous delivery schedule.
