The Little Mouse's Tail is an old Persian fable about a little mouse that has a problem she needs help with. But, in order for others to help her find a solution to her problem, she has to help the others find solutions to their problems.
The moral of the story is that, rather than wallow in misery because you have a problem, it is better to find a solution for your problem. Asking others for help, can be a part of that solution.
The idea of this book was born out of Ardi's wish to create illustrations for a children's book for our daughter Harley. The book is based on a fable that Ardi's grandmother used to tell him before bed, when he was a young boy. With the help of Harley's grand father Russell, we adapted the original story for this book and put it into rhyme.
Though this book was originally created for our daughter as a labour of love, we got great responses when we showed the book to friends and teachers at the childcare centre our daughter goes to. We then trialed the book on other kids and, they too, enjoyed the story.
To our excitement, requests from parents and grandparents for copies of the book were coming in, however, we only have one hard copy. Therefore, we would now like to print and publish the book so we can share The Little Mouse's Tail with others.
Risks and challenges
This wonderful book doesn't make itself; we have spent countless hours of our limited spare time in getting the book ready for print.
It was a true family effort, with Harley's grandfather Russell as co-writer and editor, that has brought us to where we are today.
We are very excited to see our book so close to being printed for other children to enjoy.
We have decided to self-publish the book and already have an ISBN for the hardcover version.
But, we cannot get this labour of love printed and sent out without your support. We hope this site will help us with the funding required to deliver a beautiful, high quality book for children around the world.
