Maybe you should wear two of those bracelets! Ooor... maybe two rings instead? Are you doing sports where two hands are involved, such as kayaking or aerobics? It is simply a matter of wearing two rings to track the motion of both your hands.
Ok, tell me one more thing!
Arcus comes with a wireless charger. No plugs, no holes. Still not enough? A spherical enclosure will also be provided, giving you the possiblity to transform your Arcus into a tracking ball. Oh, and one more thing! While rolling that ball, Arcus will adapt to the magnetic conditions of your location giving you the best available motion sensing accuracy.

ARcus - 3D Augmented Reality
Arcus analyzer app will be prepared for both motion tracking and gesture control. It will have basic functionality first, but as our community grows, the more feature you'll have!
Each sport and different use case will have its own section in the application to provide the best and most relevant user experience.
The Arcus SDK enables any programmer to create apps for new use-cases and other sport sections inside the application, or to create standalone solutions too.
The Arcus mobile application will be available for FREE for all Bluetooth Low Energy supported devices with the following platforms:
- Android 4.3+ phones and tablets
- iOS 7 phones and tablets
Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones
- Windows 8.1 PC-s and tablets
- [LOCKED - stretch goal] MAC machines
- [LOCKED - stretch goal] Linux machines
You will have special functions for the following sports:
- swimming - basic metrics (stroke style, stroke efficiency, total distance, total effort)
- tennis - basic metrics (we asked the guys behind Shot Stats Challenger to help us with it, we would love to co-operate with them)
- kayaking - two hands swing tracking, stroke counting
- [LOCKED] - aerobics (the guys at Idoo stated, they would modify their application to be able to work with two rings)
- [LOCKED - other sports]
The electronics of Arcus includes AHRS (Attitude and Heading Reference System) and wireless charging technology. Thanks to our co-operation with 221e, we now have fully functional and tested modules that implement these two key functions of Arcus in a very small size.
Integrating these two modules into one circuit board means we managed to arrange the components in a special flex-rigid circuit board which can bend into the interior of various sized Arcus. In fact, we worked hard to ensure that the electronics would fit all US ring sizes from 5 to 16 (altough we are providing sizes 7-14 first, we plan on extending the available ring scales). Final sized PCB design prototyping is still an ongoing process, and it requires some expensive licenses that we can only afford if we manage to succeed in this campaign.
To provide you a product that has a good operating time with one charge, we needed to put a relatively big battery in it. Finding a good-looking shape that includes both the battery and electronics was not easy. We thought a bulky signet ring wouldn't be very attractive, so we got bolder, and we started to build up a more organic shape until we reached the final form of Arcus.
NOTE: The first showcased ring is an earlier prototype including the same AHRS and wireless charging solution intended to be used in the final version. The second one is equipped with the AHRS technology and realizes the same size as the production ring. Our next step is to implement all features in the final sized ring in addition to the motion sensing technology, such as wireless charging and user interface (LEDs and touch sensitive sensors).

Hi Guys, my name is Krisztián.
About 3 years ago, as a hobby musician I had this pain, that I cannot make sound effects (like distortion) while playing the synth with both hands. I could use only one hand for playing, and I had to use the other one to grab a potentiometer or a slider.
Basically, that's how it all started, and while I managed to learn more and more about sensor technology, I realized, that a ring-sized solution could be the best for my problem. Here you can see a demo video back from 2011, watch the form factor of the prototype! :-)
Along the way, I met many people who gave ideas to the concept. Even crazy ones. All those ideas convinced me that there's real need for such versatile ring product.
Risks and challenges
There are many risks and challenges associated with our project. The risks include the fact that this is a very sophisticated production technology with high production costs that requires the use of complex software and algorithms. There are high software development costs to consider, as well as long, drawn-out certification processes.
Among the challenges we face is the difficulty of being truly innovative among our competitors, something we strive to accomplish. Our goal is to make a high quality, useful product without making significant compromises.
