Developer feedback requested: Ship Icons.

Chris here!

We'd like your feedback, whether you're in the alpha or not, on ship icons, if you want to provide it.  This is one of those cases where early folks get to help shape the game, and we're trying to meet a complex set of criteria that a lot of people have strong feelings about.

The lazy approach for us would just be to do it the same as the first game.  It was ugly, but it worked.  I think we can do better, though -- and since this is a usability issue at core, we need your help to really make sure we're on the right track with that!

For sure, making it clear is very important. And scaling on various screen sizes. I have a 4K screen that I test on now, as well as lower-sized ones, as well as a retina one (high density but small screen), so I think I've got the gamut for testing with. Which is a nice change from the past, where I had to guess more often than not.

So long as we don't go all trendy neon everywhere I don't really mind. What I think ought to be important for future proofing is that they are clearly identifiable on a 4K screen. Making them scale even if that it needed.

I think that it being Ai war 2 its very important visually to make it feel new and some nice new icons can help give that feel!
