How to Destroy the World
Hand-to-tentacle combat between Elder Gods demands unique new game mechanics!
The game is simple. On most of your turns, you play an attack card. But unlike most games, attack cards don’t take effect right when you play them. This is a battle across time and space, and you see the enemy’s attacks coming long before they hit you. The question is whether you can properly counter-attack—and keep the enemy from slamming you back!
The Attack Track has six spaces that count down to Ground Zero. On your turn, you place an attack card onto its starting Position on your side of the track.
Then you use that attack card’s Momentum to move an attack card you already played onto your track. That brings the previously-played card down the track towards Ground Zero.
When an attack card reaches Ground Zero—oh yeah. That's when the attack hits. Your attack's damage reduces your foe's Guts. If it's just the right kind of counter-attack, you get a Slam bonus, too. A Bizarre attack slams if your foe's most recent attack was Dominance; Dominance attacks slam Ranged attacks; Ranged attacks slam Viscera attacks; and Viscera attacks slam Bizarre attacks.
The fight goes back and forth, round and round, like a Wheel of Slam!
Combo and Permanent cards add options and weird advantages in the right circumstances. Defense cards make the hits hurt less: play one to reduce an attack's damage.
When your foe runs out of Guts, the world is yours!
The cards are printed on sturdy 300 gsm blue-core stock, with rounded corners to prevent foxing. They will stand up to plenty of world-ending brawls.

More Old Ones in the Ring
Wrestlenomicon began life as a two-player game: Cthulhu vs. Hastur. But while finishing the two-player game, we’ve figured out the rules for three-player or four-player Grand Melees as well as four-player tag-team matches!
To play three or four-player from the start, you could buy extra Cthulhu or Hastur decks. Better yet, get a friend or two to back the Kickstarter and push us towards the stretch goals that add new decks for elder gods like Nyarlothatep and Yog-Sothoth!
Where the End Began
Wrestlenomicon is a game of the Old Ones battling over the end of the world, developed by Fire Opal Games for Arc Dream Publishing.
Wrestlenomicon was conceived in the stinking mists of pre-history by DENNIS DETWILLER and SHANE IVEY, the creative team from such award-winning Cthulhu Mythos works as Delta Green and The Unspeakable Oath. Shane Ivey has managed Arc Dream Publishing for more than 15 years and, back in the day, helped produce boardgames for Avalanche Press. Dennis Detwiller conceived and wrote the best-selling video game [PROTOTYPE] for Radical Entertainment and Activision, produced high-profile mobile games for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and still collects bloated royalty checks for cards he illustrated for Magic: The Gathering.
Dennis and Shane tinkered with Wrestlenomicon for many years before they stumbled across the key to making it perfect: Get ROB HEINSOO to do it! Rob has designed tons of successful card, board, role-playing, and miniatures games. He instantly got what Dennis and Shane were going for in Wrestlenomicon, and instantly threw out all their nonsense and made a brilliant game from scratch. The rules developed by Rob's team at Fire Opal Games brought Wrestlenomicon's fun attacks and combos to life, making them easy to play but charged with interesting tactical options.
Wrestlenomicon's cards are painted by KURT KOMODA. An amazing, fast, and—most importantly—reliable artist, Kurt brings the pain whenever called. It's never "What's an ovipositor?" or "Why would Cthulhu shove the Statue of Liberty up Hastur's nose?" It's just "How does this look?" And you know what, it always looks awesome. Always.
For the last couple of years, Kurt slashed and burned his way through the Cthulhu and Hastur decks, creating dozens of astonishing illustrations for each of them. Then Rob's team too Kurt's art and Arc Dream's ideas and designed, playtested, designed, playtested, and designed and playtested some more. If you listen, you can still hear the whimpers of their schedules, begging for mercy from afar.
Meanwhile, Dennis and Shane were heads-down in Delta Green: The Role-Playing Game, devoting all their efforts to the new edition of that classic game line. That labor would eventually pay off in the summer 2018 release of the Handler's Guide and the six Ennie Awards given to Delta Green books at Gen Con 2018.
You know how much all that acclaim mattered to Rob and Kurt? NOT AT ALL, that's how much. Kurt and Rob sent Arc Dream Publishing a certified letter, flapping out of the night on black wings. It said, and we quote, "We have heard enough about your award-winning RPG bullsh***! We all have awards, and we don't spend every Kickstarter page bragging about it. It's been f***ing YEARS. It is time for us to GET PAID." (We're pretty sure that's how it happened, anyway. Memories are tricky things.)
So here we are. Fire Opal is ready. Arc Dream is ready. It's time to punish your foe with Cassilda's Thong and the R'lyeh Shuffle. It's time to gather your Cultists and build up Momentum. It's time to put the hammerlock on your favorite credit card until it squeals.

Who Did This?
FIRE OPAL GAMES: Rob Heinsoo designed the game mechanics and card set. Sean McCarthy handled development. Lisa Eschenbach was the key playtester. Marie Poole helped Arc Dream plan things and gave valuable advice, and ran tons of Gen Con 2018 demo games. Brittanie Boe of Be Bold Games helped plan and promote Wrestlenomicon, and produced introductory and how-to-play videos with Rob Heinsoo.
ARC DREAM PUBLISHING: Dennis Detwiller and Shane Ivey conceived Wrestlenomicon, wrote all the card titles, oversaw production, and will publish the game. Kurt Komoda painted the cards. Simeon Cogswell designed the cards. Adam Jury-Last laid out prototype decks in time for Gen Con 2018. Rachel Ivey produced preview videos. Jonathan Ivey narrated them. Jake Cook, David LaRocca, and Heath Robinson played Wrestlenomicon with Shane Ivey in the videos. The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets provided bad-ass music.
CTHULHU AND HASTUR MYTHOS: H.P. Lovecraft and Robert W. Chambers created the mythology that we're pillaging, and may rise from death for unwholesome revenge when they see what we have done to their works.

Risks and challenges
THE CORE GAME: The most time-consuming work for WRESTLENOMICON has already been done—we worked on it for years before bringing it to Kickstarter. The decks for Cthulhu and Hastur have been fully laid out. Before we go to press, the Fire Opal Games team will review everything and make any last changes that come up. We'll lay out the final rules, only a few pages long, and the deck boxes. Those will not take much time. We are working with manufacturers who have done great work for us before and who can handle anything we come up with, so we have no reason to expect any delays on that end.
STRETCH GOALS: Stretch goals will come out as they are completed. We will announce their schedules along the way as each comes nearer to shipping.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AND HANDLING: Veteran Kickstarter backers know what a bugbear shipping charges can be. We will not charge backers for shipping and handling up front. Instead, we will charge for individual rewards as they are ready to ship, using a management program like Pledge Manager or BackerKit. We anticipate (knock on wood) that delivery of the core game will cost about $10 in the U.S. and U.K., $20 elsewhere in the E.U. and Canada, and $30 to $40 elsewhere.
