Injector solves a problem that almost everyone faces when using computers and the Internet which is, we all have too many passwords to manage.
Passwords need to be hard to guess and as random as possible so they are resistant to attacks from hackers who want to steal your online identities. We need something that can securely manage our passwords for us, keeping them safe and in our possession all the time, yet letting them be easily used whenever we need them.
With the Injector device and accompanying Password Injector smart phone app, all of your passwords are securely stored on your smart phone. Whenever you need to use one of your online credentials, all you need to do is plug in the Injector device to the computer, and tap the item on your phone that you need to use. The item will automatically be sent to the computer.
With Injector you don't need to remember passwords anymore and you don't have to type them either.
Watch the following video to see how Injector can automatically log into your PC using your smart phone.
Windows 7, 8, and Mac logins can be automated without installing any software.
Ultimate convenience with the best security
For the ultimate in convenience you can use our browser plugins. When a web form appears, a code is displayed for the Password Injector app to scan. All you need to do is point your phone's camera at the screen and the form is automatically filled!
Injector can make random passwords for your logins and it will even generate One-Time-Passwords (OTP) for web sites that support two-factor authentication. The information stored on your smart phone is secured with industry standard AES 128 bit encryption.
How it works
The Injector device is a USB dongle that plugs into your computer and connects to your smart phone wirelessly over Bluetooth. Once connected, your phone acts just like a keyboard and a mouse.
Injector doesn't need to have software installed on the computer and it doesn't transmit any of your information over a network or use any kind of server. Information simply goes right from your phone into your computer.
The Password Injector app can create entire sequences of credential items, mouse, and keystroke events to automate the filling in and submission of web forms.
Password Injector isn't just for passwords. You can use it to store and manage all kinds of information, sensitive or not, that you need from time to time but can't remember:
banking information and account numbers
credit card numbers, expiry dates, and security codes
billing addresses, phone numbers and lock combinations
Injector will work even when a machine hasn't booted yet. Many PCs have full disk encryption which requires a password before the system can even boot. Because Injector doesn't need any software to run on the machine, it can even be used pre-boot to unlock full disk encryption.
The machine you are using doesn't even need to be a computer. You can use Injector with many televisions and use your smart phone to navigate and type rather than using a remote to select letters on a virtual keyboard. As long as it supports a USB keyboard, Injector will work with it.
You can use Injector as a way to control presentations or give demos on your machine without you getting in the way.
Why you should use Injector
Every year cloud data breaches are getting bigger and more frequent. At the same time we are using more web services in our daily lives that required more passwords for us to remember. If you are like most people, you cope by using the same password for many different sites and services.
This is a bad practice because when one site gets compromised, the hackers now might have your password to many different sites. Once your identity is compromised, it can be very difficult and costly to recover.
Now more than ever before you need more online security. Usually, more security always comes with a price of less convenience.
This is why we created Injector! Injector can give you the security you need for today's online environment, while being extremely easy to use at the same time.
Where we are today
Today we have the following:
Working prototypes of the Injector device
Password Injector app for iOS
Browser extension for Safari for QR code web form filling
The prototype Injector devices are proven to work on PCs, Macs, Linux, Televisions, and tablets with USB ports.
The Password Injector app is highly functional with the necessary security to protect your information on your smart phone, and it will be ready for release very soon on iOS.
What we still need to do
To make Injector complete, we still need to do the following:
Layout a new hardware design for a small USB key form factor
Design an attractive billet machined housing for the device
Obtain necessary hardware certifications such as FCC, etc.
Do a first production run
Port the Password Injector app to Android
Develop browser extensions and plugins for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer
The hardware design, housing, and assembly will proceed in parallel with the software development
We expect to be ready for a first production run in 6-8 weeks
With the money you pledge to our campaign we will be able to complete the items listed above in the planned time frame. It will also give us the funding to do a first production run.
We are committed to making your online experiences both easier and more secure and we need your help to make it happen. As a way to thank you for your help we've put together various rewards that will come your way with a quick pledge!
All apps and hardware backers will receive their rewards within 60-90 days of the end of our Kickstarter Campaign!
There is risk in passing FCC certification test for a RF hardware device (the Bluetooth USB dongle). To mitigate this risk, we will apply best design practices to get it right the first time, but in the event that we miss, we will adjust the circuit and re-spin the boards to obtain certification.
We are developing a software solution that spans two smart phone platforms and four different browsers. Each environment has its own behaviour and framework for integration. You can't just write the software once and expect it to work everywhere. It may even be the case that some capabilities in one browser are not available in another. This type of development requires specific attention and code for each platform and the amount of testing required is also compounded.
It is critical that the smart phone apps are complete and rock solid. To mitigate any risk in these deliverables, we will make the Password Injector app for iOS and Android the top priority for development and testing.
This means that even if we don't get all the browser support we want for automatic QR code recognition, we will still be able to release a fully functional Injector product. In the meantime we will continue to enhance and release updates to the browsers on an ongoing basis.
The first 3 rewards (Early Bird Deal 1 and 2 and the $35 level rewards) only include the Injector USB device and wireless mouse and keyboard app. Not the Password Injector App. The Injector USB device connects your phone to any laptop, TV or anything with a USB port and turns your phone into a wireless mouse and keyboard.
The last 3 rewards (Early Bird Deals 3 and 4 and the $55 level rewards) give you the whole bundle: Injector USB device, wireless mouse and keyboard app, AND the Password Injector app. With an appropriate pledge you will receive the ability to securely store all your passwords and confidential information in your smartphone and easily inject them into the require field.
Yes! Injector has the ability to create a secure backup and restore of credential items. It will also remind you to backup your data if you haven't in a while or if you have new credentials that haven't been backed up. So if you were to lose your phone, your data is not lost!
The Injector device will work on any computer that supports a USB keyboard. It doesn’t matter what the operating system is. In fact Injector will work on any device that supports a USB keyboard, including some tablets and televisions.
Password Injector is different in a couple of ways. First, most password managers either store your password bank in the cloud or have copies of them on the various devices and PCs that you use. With Injector, all of your information is stored securely on your phone, and in one place.
The other big difference with Injector is that it doesn’t require any software to be installed on the machine. You just plug in the device and you are ready to go. With Injector, you get both the security of your smart phone and ease of use.
