We’ve wanted to produce our own short film for many years but our daily work of making content and commercials for clients always seems to get in the way. So, six months ago we decided that enough was enough and agreed that in between paying projects we would set about making it a reality. In that time we’ve managed to write a script, land an amazing narrator (David Morrissey) establish a storyboard, build a set and shoot a one minute teaser, which, for a bunch of animators, is pretty good going.
Of course stop motion is a highly time consuming and expensive business, so we all agreed that Kickstarter could be just the place to help make this short film possible. So rather than compromise on quality or take years to finish we're here now, hopeful that we can raise the funds and get production started. Fingers crossed.
When Húsláb arrived on theses shores in 1964 he brought a battered case filled with little more than a bundle of hope. Hope, that anything can be overcome. You see Húsláb is a little different from the usual babies brought into this world. On one foot he has a live chicken, on the other a pig’s trotter.
Of course if you’ve visited the English seaside town of Margate before, you’ll be well aware of his egg laying skills and regenerating foot. But, for those of you that haven’t been as fortunate please allow us to serve you a potted insight into one of our greatest migrants. He was born in Hungary to dark times but brought light wherever he trod. He fuelled the sick when they were empty and nourished his village as times got worse. He had a house and a family. And then he didn’t. Adversity brought him to the Kent coast, but what kept him here is even harder to swallow. A hindered soul obsessed with liberty, he stumbled into our lives believing that if you dream something hard enough it might just become reality. What came to pass beneath Turner’s infinite skies is food for thought that can now be consumed by the rest of the world.
We’re all on a journey to somewhere it’s just knowing when you’ve arrived that’s difficult.

We are very happy to be based in Margate, which for years has been known as a down at heel seaside town on the south eastern tip of England. The last few years, however, have seen it quickly transform into a bustling creative hub filled with designers, musicians, salvagers and the occasional artist. Our studio is at the heart of this rebirth and stands proudly alongside the other makers who have chosen this new path.

Being a self contained studio means that the funding we get will mainly be used on materials and model makers. We wont be spending it on kit or crew or post as we already have those things in abundance we just need you guys to fill in the blanks where necessary.
What happens if we make more than our goal? Then we can make the film even better! Not only will additional funding speed up production, it could also allow us to build more sets, add additional characters and use even more camera moves.
Now we know that you can’t all donate money to Húsláb but we’d love you to do your bit and share it with as many people as possible. No matter where you are in the world we’d love you to be part of this amazing and unique project.
