About this project
Hello all! I'm writer Andrew Anderson. I wrote the comic book 31 for 215ink. I'm here to tell you about another project that is dear to me.
I want to launch my own comic book publishing company. I want to start by releasing miniseries, and graphic novels. The first one that I have lined up is Death By 1,000 Paper Cuts.
I want to start off small and hopefully one day publish other people. We all know there is a change coming to comic book industry. I see how Jack White took his own music and has full control over it. I want to do the same with my comic books. I am going to take what I've learned from him and apply that to my writing projects.
The money is for publishing, promotion, and other legal things. I want to be able to release the book and pay the artist on the book. So I've put together some great incentives!
The $1 to $25 tier of incentives is basically a pre-order system for the book.
The $30 on up are for the other costs, and those incentives are going to be greater and limited.
Hard covers will be limited to 10 copies.
There will be 150 variant covers printed per each issue. 50 of these will be given out randomly in the pre-orders for issues one through four.
Summary of the series:
After the fall of the United States due to economic situations in the year 2012, the United States had split into two fractions. The Border States, consisting of Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and the lower half of California and Free America, consisting of the Northern States. Alaska and Hawaii have become their own nations as have numerous military bases around the world.
Jack and John had been leading the Resistance in Texas against the sleeper cell Al Qaeda at the request of Border States President Perry. President Perry had given intel to Jack about the Chinese PLA invading and told him to go north to deliver the intel to save Free America. Jack handed it to John to deliver and left to save his love in San Antonio.
In Free America, Brian leaves a bar after explaining the situation to the patrons. He heads south trying to raise an army to help defend the border against the PLA
In Afghanistan, General Burkett is trying to hold his men in position, but with food running low their only choice is to head to the last ally of the former United States, Israel.
31 Days Left Reward Unlocked!
All Donation levels (even past donors) will receive a .pdf copy of 31, 31:The Scripts:Issue One, and a Print mini-poster from either Death or 31.
I'm doing it because, I'm really passionate about this book. I love the medium. I want to do for other people what 215 did for me. However I'd rather take the risk on something I did before putting other people at risk.
I want to launch it at Austin Comic Con. However, all donors will receive their copies asap.
One day soon that will be the goal. However at the moment It's just going to be me, and other people that I know. I know some pretty amazing people in the biz, and I'm sure if this experiment takes off, they'll be on board. If those books do well, well then I will open to submissions.
Yes, and no. There's no easy way to say it. The book has some political points to it. These points don't necessarily reflect my own personal view points, or that of Tun's. It fit the story. I mostly try to keep my own political views private. "31" leans towards the middle of the spectrum, and "Death" leans a bit to the right. Some of my other projects will lean to the left. I write what is appropriate for that story.
