Announcing Our Second Stretch Goal!

Posted by Matthew and Mark McLachlan (Creator)

Fidget Family,

PHEW! You all are just flooring us, thank you so much for your continued sharing - it's what is making this project! We are one week into this campaign and are truly excited with how this community is growing. We know you're probably anxious to hear the next stretch goal. This is a two part stretch goal that will be achieved at $500,000

Part 1

We have received many requests regarding a Kickstarter specific Fidget Cube, a way to commemorate that this product was born here, on Kickstarter. Well, we will be fulfilling this request as a thank you for your support and the amazing community you're building!

Show everyone that YOU made Fidget Cube a reality

Part 2

We have also received many requests for stickers. We have 2 designs that we are considering, but we want the community to make the decision on which one we should use. At this point, we can say that each pledge will receive at least (1) sticker in their shipment. The sticker will be about 2 x 2 inches. More to come as we figure out pricing! Please see the two options below and follow the link to cast your vote - please vote only once ;).

Which one will prevail? It's up to you. Vote now!

By the way, we haven't forgotten some of the bigger requests that are being made... we are working on solutions every day, so stay tuned.

Before you go...

We have received a few messages lately asking how one can specifically make a difference with getting the word out. You can do it whichever way you choose, but here are a few quick options (just click the button - it'll redirect you to the platform) that would make a huge impact:

1. If you're a reddit user...

2. If you tweet...

3. If your Facebook friends could use Fidget Cube...

      Amazing! I love this :D

I absolutely love the black and green colorway!!! I'm so glad I backed this and am thankful that you are showing love to the Kickstarter community!

    4. Chris Rosebrough on

My students sometimes tell me that my fidgeting is distracting for them so with this hopefully I can solve this issue. Also, that KickStarter color scheme is absolutely my favorite so I'm overjoyed that it's an option!

As a mother of 5 children, 3 of whom are on the Autism Spectrum an one more who is being watched, I can say this is one of the most innovative needs out there. Fidget toy = stress reliever as well, and I wish I could get one for each of my son's classmates as wee! This is a perfect therapeutic device as well as the typical fun of fidgeting. I truly hope you get many orders from Special Educators for their classrooms as well as therapists. The very first Kickstarter I backed was the Octopus "watch" by Joy and this is right up there with in the area of meeting a great need that often goes unheeded. Bravo to all of you inventors, designers, and thinkers out there that came out with this product!

The comments about shipping logistics is a good one. If you ship via USPS, *don't* ship so many at once that they demand you drop off crates at their loading dock! Another campaign creator is dealing with a mass shipment left on a dock that, "unbeknownst" to the postmaster, had ZERO security camera coverage. Hundreds of packaged products were stolen before scanning, with probably no leads on recovery of the stolen items. The creator is also dealing with successive eye surgeries (he had tried to rush these out before that ordeal began) and financial losses with tracking and replacing all those shipments. Everyone has been understanding and generous with this issue and an issue with the standard shipping software failing to catch duplicate shipments, but as one of those whose shipment was stolen in July, I can tell you it has been a massive headache for all involved.

I am so excited about the cube. This will be the ideal toy for me as well as my future students as I am currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education.

Omg this is perfect I'm a really bad fidgeter and honestly it drives people bonkers and I have a hard time focusing and I'm back to school soon and I hope this will help me focus more .
      Thanks so much

@Hannah, generally when the surveys come out after the project is successfully backed, that will asked for your shipping info and whatnot

    11. Libby on

Just wondering how to get the Kickstarter exclusive one?

I pledged $22 so that I could get this for my fiancé who is a huge fidgeter! It never asked for my address or anything. Will I get an email or something when this product is ready to be shipped in Dec? I'm really confused about that part.

    13. Kane Harrison on

As long as I can get black cubes with orange fidgets, I'm happy with whatever else you do.

Among many other commenters here, I was wondering if the Kickstarter cube would be included as an additional exclusive cube along with our other cube? Or should I go back it for another cube so I can get the Kickstarter exclusive and another color scheme? So, so excited for this to come out! I'm in college and I am constantly having to move some part of my body, click a pen, wiggle my foot, or something and I feel like this would help me in leaps and bounds!

    15. Anthony Fisher on

I'm wondering, too, about the KS cube(s) being in addition to a standard backer order or if it'll be included on the list of options. I know I'm gonna want my full order to be KS styled cubes if I can get it - those look awesome AND the exclusivity is appealing - but I'll also appreciate getting a sixth cube that stands out among the ranks.

As QuangDX said, though, PLEASE mind your logistics. That stuff sneaks up on folks.

Congratulations for doing really well. But I implore you that you put plans in place to deal with the logistics of making and shipping this large number of items. I've seen so many Kickstarters mess this up and end up taking 6 month to over a year to fulfil everything. Best of luck with the campaign.

Apart from charging 19$ for international shipping for this tiny item [borderline ripoff]- you guys are fine. Pretty unique product right there, and I wish you much luck..

Is the special Kickstarter cube going to just be offered as an option with the colors, or would it be given out to all backers in addition to their pledge orders?

    19. Viet Phan on

with the addition of that new color i might just have to buy a few more, this is such a great invention! id spread it to my friends but it seems like everyone has already reposted this kickstarter all over my timeline!

      Anna on

One thing I would like to mention is that this is spreading as far as I can see through a lot of Facebook groups of people who are prone to fidgeting, I.e autistic adults and adhd adults. I found out about it via one of the autistic groups I frequent, only to find today that women with adhd reposted your link. Do not underestimate the work of Facebook groups. Lol

    21. Joe Sewell

Ooh, gotta have the KS-exclusive one! Might have to up my pledge to 5!
