Gob'z'Heroes // v1.5 (Canceled)
New Edition of “Gob'z'Heroes”, completely redesigned! Same game, same editor ... but better, and plastic-free!
Gob'z'Heroes is a complete 2 to 4-player game where goblins clash loudly with face slaps, trip each other up, throw grenades and use quite unorthodox technics such as “Acid Fart” or “Good Wallop” … and a good amount of luck. You will head the Gob'z'Heroes or the Gob'Villains, and try to ridicule the rival crew !!
Everything is allowed, including the most ludicrous attacks…
The game will be available in English and French. You will be able to make you choice after the campaign.
Take part in the revival of Gob'z'Heroes!
We decided to return to Kickstarter with a new version of Gob'z'Heroes, completely redesigned.
After experiencing the first campaign with our hearts and souls, far more than with real skills, we learned a lot about this very specific gaming industry. Somehow, we would like to offer you a Gob'z'Heroes of maturity.
Be the first to score the number of Victory Points defined at the beginning of the game. It is as simple as that!
A Gob'z Crew is made of 3 to 6 Gob'z (with 1 Troll maximum)
Gob’z are scattered and noisy little people. It always requires a certain amount of authority to keep them focused and to have a good cohesion in the Crew. That's why you'll need at least a Gob with some Charisma!
The characteristics of each Gob’ are listed on their profile card. The power of each ability varies from 0 to 12 (before any modification by cards or stuff).
Rations show a Gob’s appetite. It will require more Charisma to lead Gob'z with bigger appetites.
Charisma is a Gob’s ability to lead the Crew. The higher this value is, the easier it will be to lead the others. This Characteristic is used to figure out how many Gob'z you will be able to control during your turn.
Movement represents a Gob's speed. Usually for Gob'z, smaller means faster and bigger means slower!
Physical Ability indicates the Strength (attack) and Resistance (defence) of a Gob’. In other words... its ability to dish out and receive blows! The higher the value, the tougher the Gob'!
THE GAME BOARD
The game is played on a 10 or 15-by-14-squares board game (depending on the number of players). You'll find six 7-by-5-squares tiles in the box, allowing you to create various game boards for 2 to 4 players. The game board has two distinct levels: lower (ground) and upper (platform). Those two levels are going to restrict movements and attacks.
The game box contains now everything you need for a 4-player game!
The game goes to a whole new dimension with Stuff cards ! You can use them to reinforce your attacks or protect your crew. Some of the Gob'z start the game with Stuff cards.
For fans of game area organization, the cards have been designed to be slipped under the profile cards of your Gob'z, allowing you to visualise at a glance all the essential informations.
In Gob'z'Heroes, players take control of Heroes (Yes, Gob'z can be heroes too...). And sometimes, even heroes need a little help to cope with challenging situations.
Combo cards are made to provide you with unique games. You'll get 35 of them to be played by anyone.
With each “Hero” comes “heroic actions”. Combo cards guarantee this in many ways!
Combo cards can be used at ANY TIME. Yes, really, anytime!
One pledge, one price ... and that's all!
We promise you that no add-ons or other unpleasant surprises will appear during the campaign! Our only goal is to fund an expanded version of the game! This means that all Strech Goals unlocked during the campaign will be available to everyone, at no extra cost!
The base game will offer you a complete gaming experience for up to 4 players! (See below “This is what you'll get” part)
There are more than 40 gob'z currently out there and we were "only" able to put 21 of them in the game box. It would be great to get a few more into the game box, wouldn't it?
We had a lot of ideas about gameplay, additional features, box improvements, etc. In a nutshell, nice stuff, so... We need your help!

Why a "new" Gob'z'Heroes?
Gob'z'Heroes v1.5, who is it for?
- for board gamers allergic to miniatures
- for the first-time Gob'z who want to add a new experience to their GzH 1st Edition!
- for those who want to pledge, because it's awesome to pledge!
- for those who like clafoutis
- and finally, and above all, for every players looking for a complete gaming experience without bankrupting themselves!
The first edition of Gob'z'Heroes being sold out, we wanted something new to revive it, but without entering into a dynamic of overbidding. Well, we wanted a new game.
With the experience gained over the past 3 years, we believe that miniature games have found their public and we would like to open this genre to another kind of players.
NEW GAME BOARDS
Double punch for the upper level. This will improve significantly your gaming experience. Movements, lines of sight, for shooting among other things, or just for the sheer pleasure of playing on an improved game board :)
The Factory is now opening onto Nature! Kevin has been working on a new game board experience. Although locked in their “prison”, Gob'z can go get some fresh air, the slaps will be colder there!!
A link to the Factory exists on Nature game tiles so that you can create multiple game board configurations!
Cardboard Standees are THE big new feature of this 1.5 Gob'z'Heroes edition !
We made this choice for two reasons: cheaper to produce = more Gob'z = 4-player edition possible! The second reason is ecological. Our personal convictions, within the Lumberjacks, hold us back from using plastic as a basic element for the Gob'z!
NEW CARD DESIGN
We have chosen to opt for Kickstarter to launch this new edition of our very first game for various reasons. In contrast to the time we launched the very first Gob'z'Heroes, we now have our games available in stores. We even released 4 games since then. We have very good working relationships with these companies and we hope that it will continue to be so! :)
Gob'z'Heroes means a lot to us. He is at the very origin of the existence of the Lumberjacks. We wanted to revive it but not doing things halfway. The version we propose here, as you will have understood, is the result of a long reflection on both content and material of the game, as well as on the way to publish a game.
However, this version would not be available in stores at such a price. We would like to reserve the possibility of a future sale in stores, the way to do so and the store price are still to be determined (especially according to the funds raised at the end of this campaign ... Hem!).
So Kickstarter yes, Kickstarter exclusive no ... but almost!
Super'Gob offered to handle the shipping but let's face it, he's not reliable! The last time he was given a mission, he was found at the bottom of a dungeon drinking beer, surrounded by dozens of Kniark'Girls in an unfortunate situation!
Well, this is more likely to be a mission for ... Meeple Logisitc !
We might have to involve other dispatchers on other continents, depending on the success of the campaign!
If you want to pledge for more than one pledge (either to make a better present than a beautiful axe or to lower the shipping cost making a group pledge with your bearded friends), simply add to your pledge the proper amount (add extra 49€+shipping for each extra copie). Lowered shipping costs will be recalculated after the end of the campaign, depending on your final pledge content. And of course, every game copie will come with all the Stretch Goals!
Shipping will be charged after the campaign ends, during the “Pledge Manager” phase. You'll find below an estimation shipping costs range depending on your location.
The exact shipping costs will vary depending on your location but also on the final weight of the game after all Stretch Goals have been unlocked. That's why we can only give you a price range for each location.
The Lumberjacks[Studio] was born in a small village in the heart of the Normandy countryside in 2016. Thanks to their complementarities, the Lumberjacks are working to bring “a little something extra” to the world of gaming!
Identity, Originality, Ethics, Immersion, in addition to wear a beard and a checkered shirt, are the pillars that shape the DNA of the Lumberjacks Studio. In a playful world that has become so plentiful, it has become essential to stand out. Each project will be experienced, developed and thought through to respect this DNA.
It's the idea that makes the lumberjack, not the strength.
The Autors: Fabien is a French Game Designer graduated from Isart Digital Paris (The French Video Game School). He won with his student team a gameplay price for his prototype "Color Warz" in 2006. He teached boardgame design at Isart Digital during 2 years, and then created and managed FLUO Games for 3 years and published his first game : Color Warz Paint Brawl with Nicolas Tézé, coming 25 highly detailed resin miniatures. Their second game, Color Warz : Dark Threat, isn’t published yet. Now, he presents you his third game : Gob'z'Heroes developed with Antoine Roffé.
Illustrator: Well... Kevin is a French artist who have always liked to draw, since his childhood. Naturally he heads his studies and his life towards this direction. After doing a graphic arts school, many moons ago he decided to learn 3D animation at ISART Digital in Paris. As he also likes video games, he chose to combine both and worked in video game industrie as a game artist for a few years and started by studying 3D Game Art for one year at ISART Digital again where he met Fabien and also worked with him on the Color Warz games. After having worked for a few years as 3D artist, he decided to set 3D aside for a while to get back to good old 2D. That leads him to work on Gob'z'Heroes and to have a lot of fun to think up and draw all these characters :)

Risks and challenges
This is our fourth Kickstarter campaign. Despite the difficulties encountered with some of them, we delivered the rewards with only a small delay. Since the beginning, we have also launched five games directly in store.
For this campaign, the content is almost finalized and will be ready for production by the end of the campaign. The stretching objectives have been thought out in advance and will not cause any further delay.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ZERO RISK, BUT WE NOW HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO BE TRUSTWORTHY.
Although we have made sure that the game is ready to be launched and that we have chosen our partners wisely (printers, logisticians, etc.), we unfortunately cannot protect ourselves from axe rains, invasions of zombie loggers or other Gob'z festivals... This could delay the delivery schedule, but rest assured that if this happens, we will keep you informed of any such eventuality.
All pledges can be refunded up to 60 days before the manufacturer ships the production, with no questions asked.
If a refund is requested more than 15 days after the end of the Kickstarter campaign, our Kickstarter fees will be deducted from your refund.
