ACE Film is producing two short films directed by Anthony E. Cabral, both very different, but ultimately reveal shared themes.
Anthony E. Cabral and ACE Film invite you to join us on our first big push to produce a film directed by Anthony himself; in fact, two films.
These very different short films ultimately reveal shared themes, for which they have been chosen: character struggle, life-changing relationships and sacrifice in the face of difficult choices. Set against conflicts arising from internal and external circumstances, each film presents varying degrees to which mistakes make way for life’s casualties.
Phillip is a bitter old man who has lived his entire life with hatred in his heart, particularly for one person he feels ruined his life: his son. In his last breath, Phillip must choose if his hatred outlives him.
One Lone Soldier
Alone in an unknown land, a downed and injured World War II paratrooper finds himself awaiting certain death. As death’s grasp edges near, the only thing keeping the final page from turning is hope brought on by an unlikely ally.
This double shoot will take place over four days, allowing both films to use the same crew to maximize equipment and resources. With each film having a different look and feel, Anthony will be working with two cinematographers, whose names will be announced here in the coming days.
What Anthony and ACE Films seek now is to raise the production funds to successfully produce both films. Our preliminary draft budget estimates costs at $18,500. This is where crowd sourcing is an amazingly viable option: we invite you, our audience, friends and fans, to help our vision come to life!
How the Two Films Came About
For the past several years, Anthony has sought the right project with which to make his directorial debut. In 2009, Anthony was asked to sit on the review board for the Fall Screenwriting Class at St. Louis Community College, assessing student film pitches. One stood out above the rest and within a week, he optioned the short and started a working relationship with Christopher Roy. Anthony then bounced a short film idea he had had for years to his new partner, who loved the idea. They developed the story, Christopher wrote the screenplay and today they are set to realize their vision in collaboration with the Kickstarter community.
