Dear Friends,

The Annoyance Theatre & Bar has now been open for a whirlwind three weeks! Now that we are getting our feet under us, we are eager to finally be able to start getting more of your rewards out to you. Meanwhile, we cannot wait to have you see and experience what you’ve helped to build! For those of you that got ticket rewards, you may redeem them for any of our shows that are now up and running (based on ticket availability). The box office has a list of your names so call and reserve a seat, or just stop in any time for some of Chef Nick’s food and a drink at the bar, and see what’s playing. We are thrilled to share with you what your donations made possible.

Our next phase - building out the classrooms - starts in the next week. We're very excited to get this finished and bring our students into our stunning new home.

Hope to see you soon,

Jennifer & Mick

Yes, friends - the time has finally arrived !!

Annoyance Theatre 851 W Belmont Ave.
Annoyance Theatre 851 W Belmont Ave.

We're opening the new ANNOYANCE THEATRE on Belmont!

So much has happened over the last few months- both good and maddening, but we finally are at the end of the long journey and it looks like we'll have our licenses in hand by the end of next week.

SO -- we're having our grand opening OPEN HOUSE AND CELEBRATION PARTY over the Memorial Day Weekend.

We kick off with the opening of Mick Napier's new sketch show INVISIBLE WORLD on Saturday May 24th at 8pm. For those of you who chose the 2 opening night tickets as a reward, your name will be on the will-call list for your tickets. (You may of course switch for another night as well.) We're opening Mick's show sooner than we expected because of his current involvement with a television project that has him leaving right after the weekend to go back to LA.

Then on SUNDAY MAY 25th we have our GRAND OPENING OPEN HOUSE & CELEBRATION PARTY from 3pm - 2am. Please join us to see the new space, hang out, enjoy light refreshments and drinks (cash bar). We know you're going to love what you see - the space has come together beautifully and we're so excited and proud to finally be able to bring you all in to see it.

We look forward to seeing you all soon - if not this weekend then whenever you can get here to see what you helped to make possible. Tickets for all shows will go on sale on Monday 5/19/14.

We can't wait to start doing shows again, and enjoying the laughter and good times that are to come.

Much love,

Jennifer and Mick

Hello Annoyance Friends....

Lots more great things are happening at the Theatre!

The storefront is nearly finished - last week the bricks for the front were set, today the concrete was poured for the area in front of our front door, and we should have our own door next week.

Inside is even more exciting!

Dear Friends,

Well...it's been a long couple of months since our last update.  You may recall from the photo in our last update, that there was a huge gaping hole in the floor in the forefront of the photo. Our floor couldn't be finished until the elevator stall was placed.  And that ended up 'stalling' us out a bit during the last couple of months.  The long and short of it was that the water table where the elevator stall was dug out was higher than expected, so new plans had to be submitted to the city and approved, and then a lot of really heavy equipment had to be brought in to shore up the stall. Add to that the delightful polar vortex which made for some pretty rough working conditions.

The good news is, the stall was finally completed  2 weeks ago, and there's been quite a bit of progress since then!

And the really big news....

We now have a completed floor, and as of today, our bar is framed out!

Drywall starts next week - now we're really moving along!

We're looking to open in mid -April - we'll have some 'soft-opening' events first, before the big press opening, and we'll keep you posted about all of that.

Thanks for all your patience - we can't wait to see you in our new home, soon!

Stay warm....

Jennifer & Mick

Framing - about 80% done
Framing - about 80% done

 Hello Annoyance Backers,

Great progress! The framing of our space is about 80 % finished. It's really great to be able to walk through the space now and get a solid feel for what rooms are where, and know what it will feel like to walk down the long hall to the theatres.  Next week starts HVAC and electric work, (harder to show pictures of, but exciting none the less!)

We've begun putting together our upcoming show schedule and are hoping that we may be open in late February.  Don't put it in your calendar yet though; it's very much a moving target with all the inspections, licensing and of course the elevator still yet to be installed.

We'll keep you posted!

Thanks,

Mick & Jennifer
