What is Kingdom of Knights? An Massive Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy game, where your main goal is to build the greatest Kingdom of the land. A Castle Building game where you have to fight for dominance. It is a game built for large scale battles, between two or more players where the battlefield is one or the others city.
Persistent City State is what makes this a dangerous world. Your city continue to generate resources as you sleep, and gets more eyes as you do also. Cities never go away, you never going to need to start over.
Main Objective is complete dominance. Every day you play, you constantly have to be wary of other rogue nations attacking your city and pillaging your food, and resources. You are in constant defense mode 24/7, and you must build your city to stand, even in the hours where you are not watching.
Build A Defense Start a standing army to defend your city right away. Start erecting walls, and towers to defend and slow the enemies advance if they were to enter. Even when you are offline you can be attacked. And certain structures will need to be rebuilt if destroyed during an attack. Such as all defense structures, and tower systems. Other buildings such as your town hall or barracks will need to be repaired.
It is fast pace. This isn't a slow game, we don't want this to feel like something you have to work on forever, nor do we. Once you start your game, you have two days only to make sure your city is in order. If you attack during this grace period you lose the protection all together. You should have a full city that is defend-able in two days time, if not, prepare to be attacked, because someone is already watching you.
Platforms Supported We should note we are intending to launch Kingdom of Knights on 3 platforms. Windows,Mac, and Linux Operating systems will be supported at launch.
View Port The game is set in a ¾ top down view, like any traditional RTS game, but we allow you to zoom and change this default angle to anything you wish. You’d be able to see every detail of your city, and zoom into watching your peasants working on the farm if you would so have liked to. We want you to be able to be interactive with your city in ways other Medieval RTS games can only give you a taste of.
Never Handicapped We don’t handicap players to long build times, causing them to buy cards for increased build speeds. No we didn't want to make money this way. Plus, what a horrible gaming experience that is for the player.
No Easy Resource Buys You can't go and buy the resources for cash through our store. The only two ways of obtaining resources is through hard work, and collecting, or trade with other nations around you. We don't want the game unbalanced.
You Get All Your Money Back Any money you put towards the game over $35 dollars, you get back! We are going to give you back your money so you can use it in game. We are considering this a loan towards a shared vision together.
Read on to see more unique things about our Kingdom.
Starting Off You start off the game with selecting where you would like to start your Kingdom. You can see neighboring cities, and if you are satisfied with an available location, you may begin building your city. You have default resources you start off with, and can begin building your city with. We give you a basic run-through of your city and how it works and functions.
Two Day Protection Aura Only We give the players 2 days’ grace period before they can be attacked. We suggest you use this time wisely, because if you don’t, you’d be soon regretting it. The longest wait time for buildings would be between 5-10 minutes, for grand structures. So you should quickly build defenses, and mining resources, because someone is definitely already watching you as a potential target.
Can I Lose My City Your city will never be lost, only destroyed where you must come online and set your workers to start repairs.
Alliances You can ally yourself with friends, and do joint attacks on cities. When sending in troops, you can decide if you want to join the fight with your money, or by donating your troops to a fight. Your ally's can also help route a enemy attacking you.
Heroes- Heroes don't really exist in this genre of game. What are Heroes when it comes to Kingdom of Knights? When you play Kingdom of Knights, you have one goal in mind, to build a magnificent Kingdom, that is self sufficient and well defended. But when it comes to battles, you have your troops and walls of your city to defend you.
But what if you wanted to join the battle outside of just placing troops down on the battlefield? With Heroes you can! When you start playing Kingdom of Knights, one of the first few things we do for you, is 1) You Setup the location of your Kingdom 2) Select A Hero to defend your great nation. When it comes to battle, you have the option to join the battle as your hero. You will be immersed in battle in a first person display. You Fight along your troops to the drums of battle!
Advanced Notifications- Since Kingdom of Knights is a persistent battlefield, it means an attack can come at any moment in time. Now you very well can't sit in front of your computer anxiously awaiting a attack to happen at any given time. You will be notified by your choice of methods, email, text, etc. You will know when an attack is occurring on your city, to help jump in and save your nation.
Your allies will also be notified if you are not online, that you are being attacked. So they can swoop in, and defend you!
Advanced Economies & Avatars - Maybe you are tired of having places like Taverns, or Trading Posts that only work on a system of calculated timed money gains.
In Kingdom of Knights, you get to customize a personal avatar that you will use to visit the towns of your friends. Maybe you become the most popular city for a new type of beer you crafted. Or maybe you have a rare item in the trading post that people want to buy. We don't give you unfriendly interfaces. We like personal experiences, of you going to the city physically, going to that trading post, or tavern, and getting what you need.
Hey why not have a beer with your mates and chat in your city after a big battle! In Kingdom of Knights, we want to make this possible for you.
Battle Lobby- Maybe outside of building your beautiful city, you just want to fight. But not with using your city as ground zero. No in a controlled environment, where everyone starts off with the same amount of resources, and battle it out in 5v5,4v4,or 3v3 mash ups. We allow competitive play outside of you building your town. So while that city is building, you can still have your battle fervor in a manner that satisfies you.
Gamble Mode in Battle Lobby- Gamble mode is unique in the fact that you start the match off playing with the resources your city has gathered. Meaning, you start off the game building up immediately. The Gamble is that if you lose the match, you lose all resources spent. But if you win, you win everything back you spent, plus what your foe has spent. Are you ready to gamble?
Full Integration with Gamebattles- From Day 1, you will be able to have statistics about your matches, and games on the leader boards of Gamebattles, as you try to fight to become the greatest Kingdom in the land. We intend to make this a competitive game, and what better way than to have Gamebattles powering it from behind.
Kingdom Of Knights wont take you weeks to build a civilization. We won’t corner you into buying cards, powerups, credits, or enhancements to get your city done in a orderly fashion.
Your building times will be extremely low, everything being built under 10 minutes. The higher end of that 10 minutes for really important significant structures. Everyone keeps asking us about this, and we want a game we could play ourselves. Let us just say, we hate long build times with a passion. We don’t want to end up learning how to knit a sweater while our houses build.
If you hate long build times as well, join our journey.
The time to make a stand in Avalon is upon us! The music in Kingdom of KnightsKingdom of Knights needs to convey these dark times and build the intensity that will keep the player blood thirsty and in suspense as they prepare for battle.
Our team of talented music composers has been inspired by the concept art and history of Avalon to create magnificent compositions which will ultimately be the driving force behind every battle in Kingdom of Knights.
On the first beat of the drums, we fight!

More Concept Artwork Coming Shortly.
The game is currently in mid development stage. We have completed 45% of the 3D building models, concept art, characters, and music compositions, 20% of game animations, and a built-in monetary system to allow players to trade items and perform a variety of transactions. The game is also being built to be portable across multiple platforms.
What we are missing is the sufficient funds to expand our development, team of programmers and graphic artists to complete the remaining tasks of this quest. In this quest to finish Kingdom of Knights we have to expand our team by at least double its current size in order to bring this immense and profound vision to life. All the funds raised through Kickstarter will allow us to complete the remaining 3D models, landscape art, animations, model textures, music compositions and sound effects, game performance and optimizations.
The Kingdom of Knights takes place in a world that is no longer recognizable from its old self. It all starts with the greatest kingdom our land has ever come to know, Avalon. Avalon has a history so grand, and a power so great, it has been said that the King himself may have been in direct communication with the gods. In the beginning, the gods were the all powerful decision makers dictating every Avalonian's next move according to their plan. Godly workings of fate, and what fate should be defined as, has influenced every decision of our people. At Avalon's prime, our people devoutly served the Royal family as they were seen as our direct line to the Gods.
Yes, those were the good old days. Avalon was a place of peace and prosperity. In those days, the most difficult choice one needed to make, was whether to make fresh trout or boar for dinner. It was truly a carefree time, with everything operating almost in complete synergy. It was a peaceful time, that lasted for hundreds of years. But no one could fathom what would happen next.
Three hundred years before its fall, the clouds rolled in and the land of Avalon became very dark. Riddled with tales of mutiny, backstabbing, and lords hungry for power, the world transformed into the most unholiest of worlds. Like a flame on a candle extinguished by the breeze, the kingdom quickly fell. In one final swoop, Avalon, the once great and golden Kingdom, became a stale land of murky sorrow and anguish.
It has been said that the fall of Avalon, was not merely an end of one Kingdom, but rather, an end to the world. That dreadful day marks the first calendar year of the new era and is signified by the abbreviation, AF (Avalon's Fall). And now, in 453 AF, we are still reminded that it has been four hundred and fifty three years since the mighty fall.
Now, in a post-Avalon world, we are wary as to where we walk, careful about our words, and closely guard our fears to our hearts. As we wear shields to hide our emotions, all human connection has dissipated. Consequently, we have begun to question our fate, our destiny, and our meaning in life. Did our only line to communicate with the Gods die the day Avalon fell? We still did not know; but alas, the existence of that saintly line of communication was never known for sure.
Reverting back to the time Before Avalon's Fall (marked in our calendar as "BA"), we will tell the tale of how a series of events smothered the light of the golden kingdom. In the year 3 BA, King Lutherian of Avalon, Fifteenth Ruler from the House of Light, was assassinated by a group of knights and lords seeking imminent power. They began their crusade by igniting revolts amongst the King's most trusted lords. Successfully turning his Lords against him, the King was forced to find a way to squash the rebellion on his own. But it was of no use, for as he squelched the voice of one anarchist, ten more took his place.
The fervor of the fight was spreading fast, and a thirst for blood, and its power was taking hold on the populace as a whole. The assassination was all but expected from everyone it seemed except the King himself. Whose face still bore the solemn look of a defeated man in death. Now in the year 453 AF, thousands are still pushing Avalon’s demise further off the eternal cliffs, helping destabilize it even further. There are those still trying to return Avalon to power, but there are so many Kingdoms cropping up, venturing for power, that it is a hopeless battle.
Watching towers being erected that consume mortals with the fire of the planet's mantle, and ice from her frigid north . Towers created from the heart of a mages tower with one sole purpose, to kill and defend. A new passion has taken the place of the humility that once existed- fear. Fear that is causing a arms race throughout the fallen kingdom. Forcing everyone to seek out new and powerful ways to compete against one another.
Lords have already turned against their Kings, and Knights against their lords. Everyone is seeking power, and further trying to make sure Avalon’s return never happens. Looking at dark skies once bright with the hope of a great kingdom, one wonders, will peace ever find its perch once more in those clouds? Or have we jumped off the cliff of glory, into a pit of never ending sadness.
This is the story of Avalon, and my dear lords, I beg of you, please bring some inkling of hope, that humanity will return its face to our land with stability.
Hail to Avalon~
This is the minimum goal for Kingdom of Knights. $30,000-50,000 will allow us to get to achieve the core fighting and siege technologies. It won't have the finesse we would like, but it will allow us to get to the market and double our effort to wrap up the remaining tasks.
$100,000 allows us to bring better graphics to the game in terms of the look and feel of the game. We can finesse the game in a shorter period of time and make it much more enjoyable for you.
$150,000 allows us to create top notch AAA models, and really spend the time we'd like to on modeling. Since modeling is such a pain staking process, the extra 50,000 dollars will help us ensure that the Models, Textures and Rigging are done properly with a polished touch.
$200,000 allows our team to introduce an economy into the mix, and allows you to have rental properties in your kingdom such as Taverns and Food Markets. If you have a popular Kingdom, there will be plenty of people that will want to visit and purchase your wares. This also introduces the basis of allowing you to visit the town in a first person manner. You’ll have a selection of avatars to choose from and a selection of cities to visit.
$300,000 introduces the Battle Lobby, allowing you to fight against your foes in a manner outside of sieging each other’s cities. In a Lobby you can create a game that will be hosted on Kingdom of Knight servers and depict the match settings 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5. You can choose a starting resource count or gamble with your own city resources. If you play the gamble and lose, you will permanently lose what you spent in battle which will go to the victor.
$500,000 introduces specialized Heroes you can utilize to take part in battle. These are unique units you will control yourself, and fight in FPS in your own sieges or defense. Some Heroes will be purchasable but everyone will get one to choose as their town's hero by default. No one will have an unfair advantage.

Risks and challenges
During the development process of Kingdom of Knights, our whole team has certainly hit numerous risks and challenges head on. Some of the biggest challenges we face now are game performance and illustration.
Game Performance is one of our main challenges in the game. We are working hard on optimizing in-game performance in order to deliver a great game. We want you, the players, to have massive in-game battles while still pushing forward to achieve the game as the writers and creators had originally intended. To accomplish this, we need a team of programmers and engineers to handle this task and deliver a top notch playing experience.
In Kingdom of Knights, illustration is not merely beautiful artwork but one of the fundamental components as the game. Designing each piece of concept art, textures, and storyline imagery establishes the ambiance, setting and time frame of the game when battles take place.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
