October Update: Shipping continues + app update for Android P!

Hi backers,

We’re in full swing with shipping and our Android P update just rolled out!

Shipping updates: 

1. North America - Shipment from the US warehouse is continuing, 65% completed by now, including shipping for other North American countries (Canada Mexico). 

2. Europe - Accessories for EU just arrived to custom clearance on Monday, so going through clearance right now. We anticipate it should complete the clearance process by early next week. 

3. Asia and Rest of World - We just started shipment from our Hong Kong warehouse this week. It is a slow start, as the warehouse is learning to package the shipments. The pace will pick up as the team on the ground gets familiarized and things start rolling.

Please contact with support questions and issues - and thank you for your patience. We're dealing with a ton of inbound questions as backers work through shipping logistics, get their orders, and set up their Superbooks.

VAT in Limited Countries Outside of EU and US

One issue we've been dealing with is that in certain countries (outside of EU and US), we are unable to directly deal with VAT as our 3rd party logistics company uses carriers such as UPS, Fedex, etc. Customs in each country will simply slap on a value and charge a tax to the recipient, and UPS, Fedex and certain other carriers just accept it and pass it on without providing us the option to manage it. In the US and EU, we work with specific brokers that help us 1) ensure the tax is very low and 2) allow us to cover it. 

For backers that get such a notice from carriers, please email us at We will provide you with the documentation to send to the carrier and guidance on how to deal with the issue with carriers. Since we have over 160 countries, it is very difficult to initiate this on our end. Please help others on Backer Slack if you successfully overcome customs issues in your country.

      I am just going to assume that I got ripped off at this point, and I am going to file a charge-back with my bank. I am tired of waiting and it is obvious that these guys are in WAY over their head. Good luck to those of you who choose to stick it out.

      Where is the list of the shipping batches and when they were supposed to ship out? I cannot find the list anywhere and all these updates to the software is useless to all of the backers who paid for a Superbook, and yet to receive their device....

      I have learnt my lesson after backing this product - anyone who promises a complex piece of technology in a short window without some supply chain experience is, at best, extremely naive, and doesn't deserve my backing.

      Since 19 October 2018 we have stopped receiving updates on the order. Our original order which was part of the original funding in 2017 still has not arrived. Their website does not recognise our email address, and there is no contact page on website.

      This is either incompetence or a complete con. I do know I have been cheated and looks like I am not the only one.

      I'm converting my old Vaio into a phone dock so I'm good, but this one seems legit as they already delivered a first version of the product.

      Got an answer to my eMails from november 30th and december 24th on january 24th from "Mary". Since then...nothing. I´m completely convinced I´m not going to receive mine ever.
      I hope these Sentio-Guys at least learned something for their future an what it means to burn millions of Dollars from their backer.

      Hi guys, sorry for a bit silent on the last few weeks, a lot of holiday-related travels and issues regarding shipment cost and shipment logistics have occupied the team’s time. Unfortunately, we are still dealing with the shipment issues right now. Here is the situation:

      1. Shipment across EU/HK/US has stopped since the 2nd week of November right before Thanksgiving holidays. we have ~200-300 shipments remaining to be ship from EU/HK warehouse and 500 order for US/Canada region, as well as the ~300 order for South America.

      2. The reason we are stalled on the remaining shipments is that we are working with our logistics provider on a pricing/over-charging issue for the logistical services they are providing. We have been in active negation with them to correct the issue.

      3. We still fully intend to finish shipment those remaining orders (as well as missing accessories) as soon we work through the overcharging issue. Stay tuned for further announcements.

      Hi guys, Good News Everyone: (from one of my favorite shows) - We have reached an agreement with the logistics provider and will be resuming shipment this week. - Once I have a chance to talk with the shipment team in detail I will have more information to provide.

      - shipment had been much slower due to the end-of-the-year break but is still progressing
      - we are still pushing our 3PL (RushOrder) to ramp it up, and shipment should resume in a more normal pace soon (Gordon's still on it)
      - For backers/pre-orderers who emailed us for follow-ups about missing items, broken side-mounts, those who requested to make address changes before & other delivery issues, we're in constant communication with the manager of our 3PL and has mentioned that she has already set up new orders for those and that those changes have been documented.
      -For technical concerns & about the firmware, Florian will directly update you guys.

      Superbook Firmware Update:

      "I just published a new version of the Sentio Superbook Updater application on the Google playstore. This version will now be able to upgrade the trackpad firmware (in the same way that the Linux utility would, fixing the trackpad for some devices, and fixing palm rejection), as well as some upgrade stability improvement. The new version is and should be rolled out in the next few hours/days by the play store."…
