1926. New York City.
When charismatic Guy Linister, an aspiring painter, covers for a singer in a Speakeasy, things take a turn for the worst. Tony Reynolds, the club’s owner decides that Guy’s talent is much more valuable than he believes. The only problem is; Tony has a controversial secret that changes everything.
Guy, now tormented by Tony’s obsession, must decide what he’s more passionate about. The art or the money and is it worth the mess of being caught in between the two?
My name's Andrew (most commonly known as Andy). I've been working on this book for a total of 7 months. This includes the first 5 or 6 chapters that I wrote three years ago and the rest of it that I picked back up in March of this year. I finished it on Friday, July 13th. I have been writing short stories and concepts for stories for many years. I have completed a total of four books (this one being the fourth).
WHY THIS MATTERS
This book is so important to me because it was completed in a shaky time in America. Not only is the 100th anniversary of the 1920's almost upon us but we are also being led in many different directions, politically. In this day and age, we felt like rights were being given to us just moments before this last election. I don't want to see those rights being taken away. This book is a reminder that, we will always have to fight for our rights. Even if we already have them.
HOW IT WILL HAPPEN
We are in the final stages of editing. This means that we don't have long to go. I have a long history of experience printing books through self-publishing mediums and if you know me, you also know that I have the equipment necessary to produce an audiobook format as well. Everything on this list of rewards was pre-calculated in monetary terms. So, I have no doubt in my mind that the project, as a whole, is attainable.
WHAT IT'S ALL FOR
This project was created for two reasons.
1. I want to get the book in your hands.
2. I want to spread the word and get it in stores.
That's why most of the money is going towards getting a physical copy in your hands. There is a less than 50% chuck that will help me get it in the right hands to have it put in book stores and get some buzz generated. I will not be pocketing any of the funds for the novel. It will all go straight back into making the final product the best one it can be.
Since the book has been typed out completely. Here is what the release calendar is looking like:
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER: Kickstarter Campaign.
OCTOBER: Final Edit & Cover Art Design.
NOVEMBER: Getting the novel ready for print & recording the Audiobook.
DECEMBER: Shipping the early copies out to you.
JANUARY - MAY: Getting the book some buzz and pre-press attention.
JUNE: Release of book on Amazon and possibly book stores in America.
Besides 10% of the funds going straight to Kickstarter. Here is what the budget looks like:
50% of each backing (except the digital rewards) goes towards the production of the book as well as the shipping.
15% of all pledges goes towards the editing.
The rest of the funds go towards the time it took me to write the book. As well as the time it will take me to design the cover wrap, record the Audiobook and edit anything left.
It has always been my passion to put my artwork out there and by backing this book, you will be a part of the start of my journey. I appreciate anything pledged.

Risks and challenges
The only risk that could arise during this process would be timing. The shipping of the book may be set back by a month or two at the latest. As long as I can get the books printed and shipped to me in a timely manner, I don't see this being the case.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
