I'm so excited to share this project with you! I've had this idea swimming around in my head for the past two years or so, about as soon as I finished work on my last project.
People often ask "What kind of music do you make?" and depending on the week I gave very different answers. The truth is, I love a lot of types of music, and I've finally found a way to really explore those different genres with abandon.
I've broken the things I've been writing down into four main groups. These will each get their own EP.
HEART : Singer/Songwriter. in the vein of my early solo records.
SOUL : Blues/Soul. the music I always play when no one's around.
FLESH : Rock and Roll. Loud. Fast. Fun. Guitar Solos.
BONE : Instrumental. I dabbled on the last record and am excited to really blow open the doors and explore here.
This will sort of look like a subscription. You support this project now and throughout the next year will keep getting new music in your inbox. Every few months, as soon as a project is finished, I'll send them off to you. A few weeks later they'll be available on iTunes.
Because otherwise I'll go broke mailing stuff, physical copies will be sent at the END of the whole process. T-shirts and picks and a few other rewards will be sent by September. I'd love to see you sporting your "Heart & Soul, Flesh & Bone" shirt at a show this Fall!
Below are the rewards. I think they're fun. Please let me know if you think of something else you'd like to see offered.
I've been gifted with the chance to make a career doing something I really love, because YOU GUYS have supported me for a long time now. I can't thank you enough, and I hope you love this new music!
Risks and challenges
The main risk here is that if we don't get fully funded, none of the money comes through and the project doesn't happen and I go get some job at WalMart or something.
That one's up to you.
Other risks are just scheduling related. Production of these EPs will be done by me in my studio, so I don't foresee any major hangups, but mixing and mastering will be done by some of the geniuses here in Nashville. Their schedule will dictate some of the release dates.
If my house floods again, well then, who knows. Let's just assume we're done with that whole thing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
