The year is 2200. The Alpha and Omega time travel company is looking to hire a tour guide and you are on the short list. For your last test, you and the other finalists will be sent back in time to prove who is the best candidate to lead future time traveling expeditions. Players will score points by experiencing historical events. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Portals and Prophets is a set collection and hand management game that takes place in ancient Israel. The game features engaging decisions as you must decide which events to attempt to witness, how to manipulate the time capsule to benefit you, and how to plan your travels so that you arrive at locations at the right time in history to experience events.
With a setup time of less than 2 minutes, and a perfect blend of simplicity and strategic depth, Portals and Prophets is a game all ages will enjoy.
NOTE: All the social goals for this campaign were reached so 5 additional event cards will be included in the game.
On your turn take up to four actions from the following choices. (You may mix and match actions.)
Draw a card from one of the 5 face up cards or blindly from one of the face down decks.
Travel from your current location to an adjacent location or leap across the board from one portal to another portal. (Unless a pawn is already on the portal).
Play an event card by being in the correct century and physical location as listed on the card.
You can contribute to the time capsule's fuel gauge by discarding cards from your hand with fuel icons. The contributed fuel remains in the tank and may be used by all players.
When the fuel gauge is at low, you can only play cards from the current century the time capsule is in.
Boosting the fuel increases the range of the time capsule and allows cards to be played from different centuries. For example, if the fuel tracker is on 1 and the capsule is on the 8th century, cards could be played in the 7th, 8th, and 9th century.
When the fuel reaches "Full", whoever's turn it is may use the time capsule to play cards from any time period. Once their turn ends the fuel tracker is reset to "Low."
As soon as a player witnesses their third New Testament event the round finishes and the game ends.
Points are scored through playing event cards during the game, but the final score is not known until bonus points are counted.

All 5 Social Goals are unlocked. This means 5 completely new event cards will be added to the game.
Risks and challenges
Portals and Prophets has been a project that has been caringly designed and playtested hundreds of times (including many blind playtests) over the past 2 years.
95% of the artwork is complete and we have done our homework to find the best manufacturer to meet our needs. We have chosen BangWee Games as our manufacturing partner. They have been incredibly responsive so far, and have a great reputation as they have partnered with many successful Kickstarter campaigns in the past.
We plan to ship through OTX Logistics and will be using Fulfilrite for U.S. fulfillment. We have looked into several options for EU fulfilment centers and have narrowed our decision down to two options.
While this is our first Kickstarter project, a lot of reading and learning has been done to anticipate any potential issues that could arise with creating the game and shipping it to you.
We've carefully calculated the advertisement, graphic design, manufacturing and shipping costs. While we will put some of our own money toward printing the game, our funding goal is the additional amount we need from supporters to get us to the point where we can print the game in mass quantity.
We are in communication with others who have taken the Kickstarter journey before us, to help give insight along the way. We are excited about the opportunity to share this game with the world. We hope you will join us on our adventure, and help make Portals and Prophets a reality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
