About this project
"The Take-Off Tour 2013"
Experience the journey, support the future career of a popular band on the rise, and make their dreams come true! "The Take-Off Tour" is set for late July-early August with a seven state tour spanning across Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, D.C., Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. For us, this is the opportunity of a lifetime; our ONLY shot to make our dreams come true, and share our music with the masses. But we need your help to get there.
After rocking crowds in sold out shows throughout Northeast Ohio, Ancestral Warship has set its eyes on the road for a summer 2013 tour. Their 15 month-long journey has ranged from nearly 30+ shows including hype house parties and iconic venues such as, The House Of Blues, The Agora, Akron Musica, The Kent Stage and Peabody's. With a 4-6 week vision that spans over 16 cities, this is shaping up to be the hottest indie tour of the summer, and we want YOU to be a part of it all!
What it Takes
Your pledge will go toward supporting a great cause; not only will your pledge ensure the future of the band with regard to more professional in-house recording, but it will also open up doors for BIGGER and BETTER tours in the near future. Here's where you come in; to complete the tour we need to raise $10,000 in funds for transportation, additional equipment, promotional material, and miscellaneous expenses.
$5,000 will be allocated toward transportation costs. Ultimately we need $3,000 to aide in purchasing an RV, while $2,000 will be set aside for gas and travel expenses.
Next comes equipment; we need at least $3,500 worth of additional music equipment which will be utilized for rehearsals, shows on tour, and finalizing in-house demo recordings. Some of the key items on the tech side include: a drum kit case, mixer, MPC, three Shure SM57's, IEM's, a loop machine, various effect pedals, XLR cables, and new studio monitors.
Lastly, we need $1,500 to fund promotional material including band photo shoots, videos, hard-copy press kits, CD's, vinyls, and promotional merchandise such as, t-shirts, indie cards, posters, stickers, and one 3x5 vinyl banner.
In an era defined by musical replication, Ancestral Warship exemplifies the definition of an original. Like a warship on a revolutionary voyage, AncWar aims to bring change and new perspective to the world of music. By creating a blend of funk, hip hop, rock and soul, Ancestral Warship fills a substantial void in music that has long been missing.
In the Spring of 2012, a group of ambitious Kent State students came together to form a band defined by dope riffs, intricate rhymes, and smooth ballads. The band's diverse culture and unique personalities chisel a dynamic experience you've got to feel to believe!

Risks and challenges
Of course risks are possible, and in most cases they are merely a part of the journey. Through strategic planning and preparation, we have worked very hard as a means to avoid setbacks. However, despite even our best efforts, some will be unavoidable. That said, the biggest potential setback at this point would be if we were unable to make our initial goal of $10,000. As Kickstarter has an 'all or nothing' mantra, we desperately need your support to make this tour a reality.
As of now, the project schedule is set, the budget is calculated, the EP / LP is currently being recorded, and the tour dates are ready to be confirmed. With regard to these variables, it is important to consider the possibility of the schedule changing, delays in the creative mixing and mastering process, or unforeseen predicaments that may arise when contracting with third-party companies and manufacturers.
Beyond that, this project is pretty straightforward, and we are confident that in the event of the success of this Kickstarter project, the finished product and your rewards will be delivered in a timely fashion. We have invested heavily into this project; we stand firmly behind it, and we hope that you will too. Provided that we meet our goal, we should be on track to deliver by mid to late October.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Long story short our EP will have 5-7 tracks and the LP will have more than 10. Depending how the project studio progress goes we might be able to give everyone an advanced copy earlier than expected.
We appreciate all the love we have been getting about the content we've been releasing over the last month. We are proud of our work and the feedback makes everything worth it. We know however that we are limited to our budget for professional recording studios and the resources of the project studios we are partnered with are limited as well as complicated. Since picking up DJ Procession we've been able to make the chaos make sense. We would love to be able to output even more quality content to the fans. If we are able to keep everything more in-house then we will be able to release more music. We'll also be able to then get more CD's to the fans, it's all about getting the message out to everyone as fast as possible.
The Ancestral within our title represents the pride we have for the diverse backgrounds that influence our music. It is our way to showcase the admiration to observe the past, present and future. Our overall aim for our creativity is to inspire a difference from those observations. To do this we have vessel that represents this positive force. We chose a Warship because of the struggle of such a journey and to also symbolize our camaraderie. We are a unit and everyone is a necessary element of our creative artillery.
