Nature Deficit Disorder is caused by human beings spending less time outdoors, resulting in a wide range of behavioral and health problems.
It's the year 2017 and a new facet of our life on Earth is finding balance in an ever changing, complex, and demanding world. Evidence is emerging indicating that humans are more affected by nature than we've previously realized. With over half the world's population living in busy urban areas and technology exponentially increasing, we are suffering from some serious mental and physical unrest.
Modern culture has disassociated itself with nature gradually over time and now it's more important, than ever before, to explore the benefits of nature.
The truth is, you can benefit from natures restorative effects in so many ways!
Flower Power: In the 90's, Rutgers University established the "Human Emotions Lab." Through three different behavioral research studies, Jeannette M. Haviland-Jones, PhD, found that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness, long-term positive effects on mood, and increased social behavior. View the academic journal here
Faster Recovery Time: A landmark study by Roger S. Ulrich, PhD, found that hospital patients with windows that looked out to natural settings had better recovery times than those who did not overlook nature. View the academic journal here
A POSTER of Nature has Power: A team of researches & scientists found that a two-dimensional visual of nature has impacts on anger, stress and anxiety levels. View the academic journal here
It's Instinct: An instinctive bond exists between human beings & other living beings. In studying how the human brain responds to nature, research in neurobiophilia examines both the cognitive benefits and neurological impacts of nature. Learn more at neurobiophilia.org
We aim to elevate the everyday timepiece into a wearable work of art. Our focus is on crafting minimal designs that highlight the beauty of natural materials - this is why we don't even use a logo on the face of any of our watches. A timepiece is an expression of who you are and what you believe in.
There is no other timepiece on the market using this process. This is a bespoke design. We've always been obsessed with nature & minimalism - it's evident in all the work we produce, which you can see here.
We began this project about a year and a half ago. We've gone through countless iterations of size, resin, flowers, and more. We found a ton of problems along the way & found a solution for each one.
A good idea takes time. Innovation requires a true passion, love, and patience. We've spent more hours, days, and months than we can count aligning multiple types of suppliers, production processes, and manufacturing techniques.
When we first presented the idea to our main supplier - they had doubts that it could be done. Just as we have with each prior collection, we've challenged imagination and have pushed the boundaries when it comes to materials.

Did you miss our message at the end of the video? If so, here it is again!
We are a small studio founded because of Kickstarter backers like you, who believe in our goal to inspire and who believe in us!
What started as an art school design project, and a thirst to share creative expression with as many people as possible, has now become a very small team of dreamers and doers who value the art of creativity, as much as the technical elements necessary for entrepreneurship.
Our pieces have been called sculptures for the wrist, likely because we aim to add a deeper meaning to an object which is typically just functional. We try to strip away the distractions and elevate the natural materials we use. Our work is sold to major museum gift stores all over the world - The Guggenheim, The Getty, The Smithsonian, The National Gallery of Art - just to name a few!
To our previous backers, thank you so much for your continued support over the years. It's been such a journey, and quite honestly, the most stressful fun we've ever had!
