Amy's Cupcake Shoppe is my pride and joy. Ever since I was little I have been baking with my mom. Baking inspires me and brings me close to home. I've been in business since 2014, and I'm ready to take the plunge and have a storefront! I live in Hopkins, only minutes away from downtown, which is in need of a super delicious bakery.
I will be specializing in gourmet cupcakes, cakes, French macarons, and other fun desserts and pastries, and of course good coffee. My skills have been honed and greatly expanded, as I take classes and learn everything I can about every aspect of baking. I want to bring delicious back to Mainstreet, Hopkins. I also want to team up with other local small businesses to sell their products in my bakery.
I have found the building and I need help with the funds for buying equipment, renovating the space and making it beautiful. Once renovations are done and the bakery is set, everyone will be able to come to their new hometown bakery. It will be an experience. You'll be able to watch cake decorating, the kiddos will have their very own kitchen to play in, and the tables and chairs will be perfect for sitting down for a cup of coffee and a little treat.
With the money we raise here, I will be able to make the down payment on my dream. Thanks so much in advance for all your support!

Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges are getting a loan from the bank in order to pay for the building, build-out costs, and equipment to get everything up and running. I will also need additional staff for baking and running the retail portion of the store.
Other challenges are doing as much work on the space myself, so we are able to keep build-out costs down. It will take time and a lot of elbow grease, but it will make the result that much more rewarding.
Down to the nitty gritty will be the equipment necessary to keep the bakery up and running, ovens, coolers, tables, mixers, you name it, we'll need it. A few of the big ticket items needed will be:
Convection Ovens $5,700
Vent Hood - estimated $20,000
Reach-in Cooler $3,000
Roll-In Cooler $6,700
12 Quart Mixer $4,800
20 Quart Mixer $5,200
Food Processor $875
Speed Racks 4@$400 = $1,600
Drying Rack $500
Shelves - Storage 5@$500 = $2,500
Work Table w/Shelf - 4x6 $1,700
Work Table no Shelf - 4x8 (wood) $2,300
Work Table for Mixers $320
Fondant Sheeter $5,300
Adding everything together including ingredients, and other necessary small wares, not including build-out costs we have around $62,070.
Rent for the space including taxes and utilities will be $3,200.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
