Ok here is the low-down. I am Ampix0 the creator of Teknue. I started Teknue.com with the help of some geeky friends to fill up our free time this summer and we are doing great! My personal dream job has always been to work on my own site and Youtube, and now I and all my team members are on our way there.
revU is the name of what will be Teknue's first Youtube show. We will be reviewing awesome consumer gadgetry, demoing and giving our impressions. Other shows will show off highly geeky gadgets (not mainstream consumer stuff), Game talkshows, Live Streams and more.
We are also trying to get to CES 2013 as hard as we can.
We want to do all of this on a pure white backdrop. We have some of what we need but not all
What We Have
- Canon T3i Digital SLR - Multiple lenses
- Zoom H2 microphone
What We Need
- Muslin Backdrop
- Teleprompter (Building this ourselves, but need parts)
- Miscellaneous production gear (clamps, reflectors..)
Why is the goal price so low?
To be honest, we originally wanted to ask for $1,000 , but we decided to start small, and go cheap to better our chances at a successful project. We are buying our gear from Amazon (also the company that owns Kickstarter) for cheap. We will spend about $500 on lights and the backdrop, we have decided to use the mic we currently have to save costs (sounds fantastic but requires manual audio syncing). We already have most of the parts we would need to build a teleprompter, but assume parts will cost about $80. extra funds will go to an audio mixer if possible, and finally some appreciation pizza to our volunteer writers. Do not be afraid to go over the goal. As taxes and payment processing will take a massive chunk of the end goal.
Will you help us?
Help us achieve our dreams (literally), if you can not pledge, that is totally fine. Feel free to spread the word! Follow us on Twitter and facebook, where we will update you on our trip and have promotional posters and flyers you can download.
