What's a Papercraft? An genius cut-out-and-keep model of the Undetermined characters. Episode #1 will be Robert. Here's an example of a previous Papercraft model from the artist.
You think your future is Undetermined? Think again...
"Believable characters in a fantastical story that manages to keep a smart edge to it without dumbing down or patronizing the reader, this ends up being one of those surprise packages that turn up in the indie world every now and then." Comics Anonymous
"I wasn't sure exactly where I was going until the last page of this comic, and on subsequent re-reads, I found the genius that's embedded deep into its DNA. This is an intelligent work that will stimulate good imagination and conversation. I highly recommend getting lost a little in Robert's "typical" life." Fanbase Press
"Behind every good storytelling is a social commentary of substantial quality. Perry digs into our modern landscape and transcribes it well into the pages of Undetermined" DecayMag
Robert is your typical teenager. Grumpy. Lonely. Centre of his own universe. He'd gladly swap his life with anyone...
A not-so-chance encounter with a girl from school begins to change his life, his decisions and his destiny. But not in a way he could ever imagine.
Join Robert, and his best buddy, Cat, as he discovers why his future is still undetermined.
Themes of Quantum Multiverses
Undetermined explores ideas of causality and determinism. In quantum theory, every decision is played out across infinite multiverses.
What if we could swap lives with the versions of ourselves who made those different decisions? What would happen to the universe we left behind?
Are all our futures undetermined? Or are we directed by a higher authority?
The idea behind Undetermined
Undetermined is a collection of ideas I've had over the years. The first idea comes from years back when my mother placed two mirrors at opposite ends of our front room, creating an infinity mirror effect. I felt disturbed by my reflection descending perceptually into darkness. Of all those other me's, what if one was different? Where might they have come from, and were they looking back at me?
The concept of multiverses and quantum physics has always fascinated me. If the theory is true that all our decisions are played out across an infinite number of multiverses, is there a link between us? Entanglement theory suggests this is the case... So imagine if we could manipulate these alternate universes and versions of ourselves to our advantage?
This isn't about changing the past and creating time-travel paradoxes. Rather, what if an event could stress the fabric between these multiverses, allowing us to replace the version of ourselves who'd made that alternate decision?
Determinism vs Chaos
Are our fates determined? Or does free-will allow us our own choices?
Perhaps there is a higher order allowing us free-will, but curtailing the extent to which we can express it.
If such an authority exists, what if it began to lose control? What if another force began to assert chaos, disturbing the deterministic flow of our universe?
Undetermined Vol. 1: Placed into Abyss
Volume 1 begins to explore these ideas and many more, introducing us to Robert, who (like all teenagers) thinks the world revolves around him.
Maybe in Robert's case, this might have an element of truth...

Styling towards Retro and Steampunk themes, Gaming Machines and Arcade cabinets are a passion he never gets tired of. You see some of Darrell’s creations at his Pinterest site.
Special thank-you - Simon Birks from Blue Fox Comics
A special thank-you goes to Simon for all his support and advice from the comic idea's inception through to its launch.
