Necrofusion is an animation pilot collaboratively produced by American and Israeli students from different schools and disciplines.
Necrofusion is an anime inspired 2D animation that attempts to produce and establish a darker, more serious approach to the American animation market. The story follows Lilith ,a 13 year old girl who shares her body with a refugee “soul reaper” entity named Kuro who spared her soul for mysterious reasons .
- (Producton still from the Necrofusion game titled: "The Minos Complex")
Necrofusion is a collaboration between American and Israeli students, as well as, craftspeople from three different schools and disciplines: MCAD- Minneapolis college of art and design, Bezalel- Academy of art and design, Jerusalem and Shenkar- School of design, Tel Aviv. This team of artists, from different countries, is working together to achieve the goal of creating an entire marketing package around one animation.
- (Lilith and Kuro character designs: The protagonists)
Since the content of the pilot episode is targeted toward teens and adults we’ve decided to market the Necrofusion with an additional project. A videogame demo based off of the pilot's concept was then designed by all members of the global team to enhance Necrofusion.
- (Concept artwork for Kuro's world)
Currently, the pilot and video game are being used as BFA graduation project for two of the crewmembers, and an MFA thesis project for two others. Since the animation market is so competitive, we believe this multi-platform marketing package will help propel the careers of all the students involved in the project.
- (Background development for the Necrofusion video game)
Each member of the team has been financial committed to support different aspects of the project, but the music soundtrack and programming for the game demo are costly. We need financial assistance in order to complete our budget for the programmer and the project's lead music composer. The amount we're asking for is 3,000 USD. This money won't cover all expenses but will supply the amount of financial support we to see this project to fruition.
The pilot episode wil be done and go public on April 2012 and will be presented in The Minneapolis College of art and design's MFA thesis show in Minneapolis at May 2012
The pilot episode will also go online in May 2012 and will be available on Youtube, Vimeo ,Dailymotion and more.
The Necrofusion game demo will be finished in February 2012. It will be presented in playable form in Shenkar- School of Design's graduation show in Tel Aviv, Israel at Feb 2012 and in The Minneapolis College of art and design's MFA thesis show in Minneapolis at May 2012,
We are also working on creating a downloadable iPhone version to spread to as many people as we possibly can.
All the prizes will be shipped to contributors in May 2012.
