About

Automated Manufactured Housing Corporation Pty. Ltd. (AMHCo) has developed a mass produced safe and affordable housing system which provides a complete factory finished unit in a fraction of the time it takes to build conventional housing. It is designed to suit disaster prone areas or for emergency accommodation for people that require shelter following disasters.

We require Kickstarter funds of $710,000 to build three units, one for mechanical and fire testing and two for display purposes, complete universal building standards testing and documentation, and launch the business. The project will take 6 months after the funding approval to complete. Please see the attached Power Point Presentation for Kickstarter Project details.

Background:

Research by AMHCo has shown that today there are over 3 billion people living in unacceptable housing conditions.  Disasters have largely contributed to this housing crisis.

For example over the last decade there has been earthquakes in China, tsunamis in the Indian Ocean, tornadoes in the USA, super typhoons and storms in the Pacific Ocean.  As a result lives have been lost, financial costs are huge, and millions of refugees are without accommodation worldwide. And one can only predict the situation will continue in the future.

Housing Industry Today:

The housing industry today is traditional, lacks innovation and is localised.

Existing housing is fragmented and weak in design as it is made up of many separate components, including walls, floors, ceilings and roofs all separately prefabricated in factories or on site.

Manufacturers also rely on a number of builders, separate suppliers, contractors and tradesmen which results in a long time frame to complete large projects.

Overall the current designs, structures and manufacturing techniques lead to high costs and pricing, and are proven not to be disaster proof.

More lives will be lost and properties damaged and destroyed.

Therefore a new approach to housing design and manufacture is needed.

AMHCo has developed the solution to the housing crisis.

The AMHCo vision is to provide safe and affordable housing for all.

Our assistance will reduce human suffering and bring more equality between poor and not so poor while being environmentally conscious.

AMHCo has developed a new, unique mass manufactured, safe and cost efficient housing system with the following main features:

  1. Modular, flexible, disaster proof construction

  2. Mass manufactured using an AMHCo developed manufacturing system and tooling with consistent quality, cost and high delivery speed up to three units per hour.

  3. AMHCo mobile manufacturing on-site, or in a factory worldwide

  4. Low impact on the environment, with provision for solar power and rainwater collection.

  5. Affordable; housing for all.

The AMHCo innovation combines commercially available and proven technologies, materials, in-house developed speciality tooling and equipment with modern automated manufacturing methods and logistics.

The design and construction of the standard module is basically a monocoque structure and is made of composite materials (predominantly non-combustible and non toxic) such as steel and a structural grade of foam with a continuous structure throughout the walls, ceiling and floor. The unit's strength relies on composite action between the insulation and the metal shells with prestressing to stabilize any movement due to high external live loads such as winds, tsunamis, earthquakes, e.t.c.

Due to the unique prestressed composite structural design of the AMHCo module and in-house developed automated mass manufacturing process and tooling, direct costs per module are considerably lower than any conventionally built houses of the same size. The difference becomes even greater as production increases.

The AMHCo system would exceed international building standards, thereby having universal approvals worldwide reducing paperwork, delivery time and costs.

Any interior fitout can be designed to comply with the local requirements mainly on a manual basis but again standard design will allow pre-packaged elements, such as bathroom and kitchen to be subcontracted by local suppliers.

The AMHCO housing system represents not just a new product, but a new industry with potential for great benefits to humankind.

AMHCo Progress Update:

AMHCo is targeting international aid, government and UN organisations, private philanthropic charities and local entrepreneurs and developers.

The AMHCo team has proven in-house expertise, knowledge and experience to carry out projects professionally, and would be supported by other professional entities and individuals such as CSIRO, BRANZ and business associates.

AMHCo has already built the first prototype of the module to prove the technology is working.

The feasibility and technical study on the AMHCo design was reviewed by BRANZ, a well know New Zealand based Building and Research Organisation, which recommended a universal appraisal and certification to be obtained for marketing purposes.

AMHCo has prepared intellectual property protection plan. Major innovations have been tested for international patenting.

AMHCo has done test marketing in potential markets, such as Japan, India, Indonesia, Australia and found results very encouraging.

AMHCo prepared a detailed Business Plan, which was independently reviewed by experts from Australian Business Association.

We have the detailed project plan, experienced team, required external contacts and support and suppliers ready to go ahead.

Risks and challenges

While there are usual risks in implementing the plan and entering into commercialisation stages of the business, the AMHCo's experienced team has taken every possible step to make sure that a detailed and carefully prepared Business Plan has all the required elements of operations in place and risks have been identified, analysed and addressed not only by the team members, but also independently reviewed by external experts, such as Australian Business Association Ltd and BRANZ.
