About this project
Who We Are
The American Jacket Company creates flawless, classically-inspired blazers, pants and shirts for work and play. Each meticulously-crafted garment supports skilled American jobs and a growing resurgence in American-made consumer pride. We’re serious about supporting American jobs – but we’re having a bit of fun with partisan politics here too. Each American Jacket Company product can bear the political logo of your choice, so you can proudly wear all your politics right on your sleeve!
Our Mission: to support American workers, companies and industry through beautiful clothing.
Each American Jacket Company item will be made in New York’s garment district, where founder Teddy Sadaka’s family has been making quality clothing for generations. His parents opened their first factory there in 1949, but due to an avalanche of cheap imports, they’ve been forced to downsize dramatically since then. This collection is an opportunity for Teddy’s family and consumers to support skilled American jobs. The urgency to support American clothing manufacturers has never been greater. Currently, 98 percent of the clothing purchased in this country is imported. That’s millions of jobs and billions of dollars that could be contributing to the U.S. economy. The good news is that consumers are demanding change and ushering in a return to American-made consumer pride. And small changes to our spending habits can make a big impact. It’s estimated that if every American spent just $64 on American-made products this holiday season, we could create 200,000 new American jobs. With the launch of The American Jacket Company collection, we’re calling on consumers to be a force for change.
Our Clothing: flawless and fun
Whether you choose to wear your politics on your sleeve with a party logo of your choice or not, each American Jacket Company garment will reflect Teddy’s family’s attention to detail and decades of experience making fine clothing. Choose from blazers, woven shirts, polos, chinos, and handkerchiefs – all in classically-inspired navy, red and white. Embroidered party logos of your choice include Democrat, Republican, conservative, Independent, Tea Party, and the party-neutral non-logo merchandise.

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges faced by companies that outsource garment production is fabric and factory delays, but we prevent such delays by producing each item in our own factory for better control.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
