True Story. I was searching for leather and I came across an abundant amount of run-off leather (extra from a product run) from a manufacturer. The manufacturer makes leather products for a world famous motorcycle company so the leather is awesome. They actually don't use the run-off leather and they want to avoid throwing it into a landfill so they let people buy it for a small cost. They actually gave me samples of the run-off leather and I proceeded to make a new prototype minimal wallet. As I stared at all the leather in the room I asked myself "How do I utilize every inch of this leather because I don't want to see this great leather end up in a landfill." Several drawings and numerous prototypes later the Band-it was born.
Band-it - Product Testing. Prototypes were sent out for people to do a hands-on evaluation. We got feedback and have incorporated design suggestions to enhance the functionality of the wallet.

I'm partnering with a small team in Milwaukee, WI. The Band-it team will help promote, manufacture and deliver rewards.
Part of the Band-it team is a small company that manufactures various leather and other material products. This company will take the Band-it design and manufacture it in a production run at their facility. They have calculated one person can manufacturing 30 bandits per hour (which is fantastic news considering we need at least 1000 backers to reach the minimum funding goal).
Even though we're getting a great deal on leather we do have to purchase it by the truckload. By funding this project you will help pay for the leather and materials. You're also helping to pay for the first production run of Band-its with a small Wisconsin manufacturer.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Band-it. This is a all or nothing campaign. Please spread the word to help raise our funding goal of $13,000 so that everyone can Band-it!
In case your wondering why a lot of reference to 13 in this project ($13,000, 1300 backers $13 dollar reward and launching on June 13, 2013).
Lucky 13! I have a older brother whose birthday is June 13 (happy birthday brother). And his whole life he told me that his lucky number is 13. So I thought I would borrow a little of his luck in order help make Band-it a success.
Risks and challenges
I am currently in the process of fulfilling Holster rewards which will be done earlier then expected (all Holster rewards will be sent out by July 2013 vs Aug/Sept/Oct 2013). As a bonus and appreciation for continued support I am offering Band-its at a great pledge price for Holster backers only. Holster backers that pledge for a Band-it will receive both Holster rewards and Bandits at the same time as I have the materials to make 200 Band-its (which is more than enough to cover Holster backers).
I have calculated the time it takes to produce Band-its and the materials are of course available and in abundance. All I need are at least 1000 backers to meet the funding goal. But producing 1000 wallets is a huge task which is why I have partnered with a sewing contractor for manufacturing, have resources lined up to purchase all materials and teamed up with a small group of people to help with fulfillment of rewards.
In the event any problems, delays or quality issues arise during the manufacturing of Band-its I will personally oversee production to ensure quality is accomplished and rewards are sent when promised.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
