In a universe where the planets the number of planets seem endless and the amounts of adventures follow. Focus upon exploration and discovery or become a member of an elite force focused on law & order. Create your character focused on a multitude of things that don't have to rely on combat, but expanding into botany, science, technology, or more. In the worlds of S0urce C0de, you create your own pathways for your stories.
S0urce C0de started as an idea to make a tabletop game that fit into the science fiction genre but didn't shy away from fantasy elements. There exist so many different fictional words either on paper, on screens, or just in our imagination and many of us year to live and experience it but don't always have a real definite way to do it. That is what we went forward to create here. A game experience that let you write those stories, original or borrowed.
By backing S0urce C0de we wanted you to feel like you were helping to build a new gaming community and that is what we want. We want players to play this game and then come up with their own ideas, come up with their own ideas of items and so on and then find ways to implement those ideas into the game for everyone else to really experience. The key word there is community.
In our world, the source code is something is essentially the backbone. A collection of instructions. We want this game to be your instructions on creating your own story and then taking it from there even further.
The system follows uses a variety of die from a 4-sided to a 20-sided and was made with the intent of making it so that the game was easy enough for newcomers to join in pretty quickly, but veterans of tabletop games to really look at it and see how in-depth they could really get with each part of their character of the story. We've spent time making it so that the person running the game didn't feel just like a narrator but someone who was really crafting something at that time. Making it so that they don't have to plan ahead for every step and if they do but things get sidetracked they have a guide to follow that allows them to really get back to that point.
We have a free download to a PDF of the lite handbook that is a compressed version of the full rulebook. It allows you to really experience some gameplay, test the system and see if you enjoy, and get a real glimpse on what we have available for you! Click Here
The system involves 8 Base races. Adma Nen, Astu,Cy-min, Human, Meka, Quintessi, Vainus, and the Veisuva.
A race that was previously human but altered over centuries of adapting and honing their bodies to fully take advantage of their psionic circuit. Over the years the changes started to take physical changes, turning their hair a crimson red and giving their eyes an orange glow.
Frequently speaking in a short, callous tone and completely lacking in hair, the Astu are an extremely intelligent and resourceful race. Patterns appear across their smooth skin, similar to that of snake skin, in different shapes. Their eyes are silver and frequently with hexagonal or pentagonal patterns on them. They are known to augment and implant upon themselves to improve their own ability. Science and technology are naturally things they continuously search for advancement in. Similar to the Quintessi, and distant genetic cousins.
Some things are not what they appear, and the Cy-min are a perfect example of that. A Cy-min may appear in a generic form, looking like that of just an android, a machine. They may also appear as one of the other playable races, indistinguishable from them on the outside, although underneath they are still entirely machine. Those who choose to appear as one of the other races have an artificially created layer of skin, fur, or whatever would be accurate for that race they are imitating. The Cy-min need not eat, nor breathe, and thus are unaffected by anything that would affect someone that way.
Humans are a common race known for their development and sense of knowledge and discovery. Known to vary in size and shape, as well as augment themselves to better compete with other races in a variety of fields
A humanoid, amphibious race. Sharp fines line their arms and sit on the top of their head. Black markings outline their body in varying patterns. Some are born with scales while others are born with skin that matches more of a rubber-like texture and to many who meet them, their speed underwater is unmatched.
A pearl skinned race with silver or white hair and a usually proper or calm attitude towards most things. They are also extremely passionate. They are known to be intelligent, cunning, and sly. It is common to find them as assassins, politicians, or even working in trade. Frequently their society follows a caste system. They have gentle features and white or light blue eyes. Their eyes are extremely sharp and good for looking over detail.
Vainus:Pale and almost identical to humans, visually. An extreme sensitivity to light goes along with their night vision. Their original creation was through genetic mutation and manipulation of humans. They have now become a race of their own, although very few know the secret to their origin and even fewer are willing to share it.
Pitch black skin, large and retractable fangs, able to extend jaw twice as long as their own head and able to eat raw meats without worry of disease. Extremely similar in appearance to humans except for their skin color and eyes. Eyes a bright purple but resembling that of snake eyes and their hair can color anywhere from an onyx black to a dark grey. Frequently they are looked at in fear because of their raw strength and yearning to advance, and very few times with they let anything stop them from achieving their goals.

Something else that is extremely interesting is that there is no penalty for having a character of multiple archetypes, for flexibility is something that we encourage! We choose the word Archetypes because of using the word classes in another circumstance, different archetypes fit into different class types which usually focus around how their development and progression flows. A few examples are the Vanguard, Longshot, and Quiver. These are avaliabe in the lite handbook. In the full handbook the archetypes available are Spectre, Magus, Vanguard, Longshot, Quiver, and Technomage
The agent is the infiltrator progression. They are an archetype that usually flows under the radar and could be seen as a mix between an assassin and a rogue. They are trained to be well versed in a multitude of other skill sets so they aren’t necessarily the greatest in any skill set other than their craft of infiltration but they are able to provide multiple rolls when needed. Dual-wielding and sneaking make them deadly in the shadows
The Magus is the mystical power archetype. Everyone is born with a psionic circuit inside of their body but the Magus are the ones who have truly learned to tap into it and embrace it. The ability to control psionic abilities allow them a wider sense of flexibility than some of the other archetypes.
The Vanguard is the all-around forward damage dealing class. It is built to be up in the front and taking out the enemies in front of them. He is meant to be able to leap into a situation, take out the enemies, and then continue on towards their objective. They heal quickly and are a heavy force to face when supported by allies but it isn’t uncommon for them to try and take out enemies on their own. They are able to use an arsenal of weaponry and built to adapt to combat situations quickly and with grace.
The longshot is a ranged based archetype focused on the use of sniper rifles. They are known to use a variety of technology to increase their range or the damage of their bullets. The longshot also carries a Handgun with them for versatility in case an opponent gets too close causing their sniper rifle to be less effective. If they come to close combat they’ll adjust quickly to adapt with the situation. They have the ability to be phenomenal support or even solo if they are able to maintain distance. Enemies beware the power of your rifle.
The quiver is a ranged based archetype focused on using the bow and arrow, while using different technology added to their arrows to give a versatility on the battlefield. Unlike most of the other archetypes, this archetype will directly end up using two different ability scores because of their use with the bow. A difference in bow usage is that when using the bow, it relies on Accuracy for ability to hit and dexterity for damage and power in pulling back. They will be trained in some slight unarmed combat in case they are unable to use their bow. They can buy materials and then create specialty arrows that give them the ability to be a deal more damage or even create a variety of effects.
Similar to the magus but only in the way that they also have discovered how to hone their bodies and psionic circuits to take advantage of latent psionic ability. The thing that sets them apart from the magus is that a technomage focuses their energy on developing and adapting powers using technology itself. Giving life to inanimate machines, manipulating metal, or even possessing machines themselves.
If some of the rewards go quickly and there is a big interest in getting more of them we can try to expand! Shipping is included in the pledge amounts listed and currently shipping of physical things is only available to pledges in the United States but we are working to see if we can change that!
