Help us publish issue one of Lucid, an all new 24 page full color comic from new creators Tim Berry and Natasha Alterici.
Author Tim Berry, has created an intense mind-bending story that centers around five strangers trapped in this trippy dream world. Even as they are trying to figure out what's reality and what's a dream, they’ll have to somehow learn to work together or else be eradicated by the mind of one man, the product of a mysterious biotech firm, who has the power to create or destroy with only a thought. These reckless experiments will lead our heroes down a path that could have dire consequences for all of mankind unless they can stop it.
Artist Natasha Alterici brings this story to life with her unique style, combining expressive line work with moody color schemes. Unconventional layout, preserved pencils for textual richness, and uncluttered panels come together for a avante-garde comic experience.
Who we are:
We are indie comic creators. In fact, we first met through a local indie comic creators group.
Tim Berry, "There is something so pure about indie comics. I am extremely excited to take an idea from a dream and have it turned into a full color comic that I can share with others I naively thought that my dream comic was a work of art until I noticed Natasha's art among our local comic group. I knew instantly that her style was unlike anything I had seen in comics and it would be an amazing fit for the unique story I wanted to tell. Every page she has turned into me from concept, to sketch, to colored & lettered final pages have been revelations. I know you will love the story and the artwork of Lucid!"
Natasha Alterici, "I love what I do. Illustrating characters and telling stories through art is my passion. When Tim asked me to be a part of Lucid, I was on board! For a starving artist living in small town Oklahoma, having the chance to reach out to creative people around the world is amazing, and that they understand and share my dream make me feel intimately connected to all of them."
What's the money going towards?
Funds collected will go toward finishing the artwork and for printing of issue one. Currently, drawing of all pages is nearly complete, we need funds to do the coloring and lettering. Once completed we'll be printing through ComiXpress. The rest of the funding will cover Kickstarter fees and rewards.
Speaking of rewards...
Backers of the LUCID Kickstarter will be rewarded with copies of the comic, wallpapers, limited edition prints, posters, original art, even the chance to be drawn into the comic. Let's not forget that it is the thought that counts, and we will include everyone who pledges a dollar or more in the thank you section of the comic. The rewards will be updated periodically throughout the campaign, so keep an out out for that. ;)
Cover painting completed!
This image will be used for the cover, the posters, and the original painting itself is up for grabs!
Let me take this moment to thank you right now for hearing us out, for sharing this with your friends and family, and for pledging. You're helping us make our dreams come true.

Risks and challenges
The main challenge is simply not having the time to finish this comic. I, Natasha speaking now, work a full time job and it isn't always enough to pay the bills. So I usually spend my free time doing freelance commissions to supplement my income. With the funding we are requesting, I'll be able to focus all my energy toward completing this exciting project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
