      I backed the radian 2 campaign and have 2 radians.
      I got tired testing last year since I couldnt get them to work properly. I managed to do a few timelapses but it was very unreliable with many shutdowns.

      Now I want to update to the latest firmware (I currently have version 14) but I cant get the update to work.

      I connect and then the question to update firmware pops up.
      I click update and then starts a never ending cycle and never any progress on the percentage. The cycle is like this.
      1 start updating.
      2 app message in notifications "Connecting... Connection to DfuTarg..."
      3 app message in notifications "Starting DFU... initializing DFU process..."
      4 phone alert "Application is requesting to turn ON bluetooth", I press yes.

      Then 2, 3 and 4 keeps repeating over and over again. sometimes only 2 and 4 happens.
      This goes on and on until force close the app and turn off the radian.

      It is the same for both my radian 2s.

      I have followed instructions on both https://alpinelaboratories.com/pages/radian-2-firmware-update and https://alpinelaboratories.com/pages/radian-2-app-firmware-update_s but the above repeats whenever i initiate the update.

      Other information:
      1 radian blinks (battery LED) green 3 times when turning on.
      The other blinks green 2 times when turning on.
      After battery LED blinks the other LED starts blinking green continously.

      @Kick No Mo Switching between version 1 and 2 in the settings menu seemed to make the most sense to us. Thank you for you feedback though!

      Hey, Radian team

      Now I complain for more than a year, that the two Radian 2's I ordred not updateable are. They have V11. But V16 seems to bee the current version.

      With all dozens of advices by e-mail and in this board you seems not to be able to give me the right advice to bring that two devices to work.

      I THINK, IT WOULD BE TIME TO DO A FULL REFUND!!!!

      What really priceless is, are all my efforts to get it to run.

      I baked some kickstarter projects and a lot of Indiegogo project. But your's is with a huge distance abosolutely the worst!

      SO, WHAT ARE YOU THINK YOU CAN DU FOR MY TO SOLVE THAT? No, I don't need other adivces how to uptate that dumb things of plastic because have followed a view tens of it with no succes.

Can you both please send emails to info@alpinelaboratories.com with all your specified concerns with a subject line: "Bug Report". We have our engineers looking into these emails so that they can better visualize the problems and help out. The most recent app update we released this week should help with firmware updating getting stuck, but if not, please message us a detailed email so we can better look into this for you.

      If you look back you can see my comments were made after your last release and over a year past the initial promised delivery date of a product with certain functionalities, it is still not working and you keep promising over and over things are going to be fixed in the next update... Each time disappointing your customers again by not following through on your promises and leaving them with a product that does not do what it is supposed to do...

      What are your plans to finally come through on the promised functionality???

      When can we expect this??

      And don't come back with soon and we are working on it.. you've been saying that for over a year and it doesn't have any value anymore....

      None of them worked... So I guess it's just bad developing

      Another fail from the developers that works hard to make the Radian2 work. After app update now Radian doesn't even connect unless it's connected to a charger. And when it is still unable to update " fail to connect"

      @MitchellVanDoorn We know this is frustrating but we definitely want to help you out some more! We're currently working on a fix for the bug. Please be on the lookout and we hope to get this resolved soon. We want to make sure Radian 2 is sliding the way it was meant to slide.

      @Heinz We're aware of this bug and are still working on a fix for updating the firmware and are continuously testing this.

      Got another reply from them today saying that they are aware of the bug for android users and are working on a fix... it's been a year working on that fix.

      With the slide function the direction changes on whenever the app wants to, programming to move left (who knows from which perspective) and the carriage moves left, do the same thing all over again and the carriage moves right...

      Synchronization between two or more devices still doesn't work. No. 1 moves and triggers the camera, while No. 2 only starts moving when No. 1 is done moving and triggering the camera..

      I'm also 550 usd in for two radians, based on the slide functionality I also invested in a rhino slider for 400 usd...

      If only I had known.... After a year of disappointment after another, I would gladly switch to any other product, but being almost a 1000 dollars in that would hurt a lot...

      Got a reply from alpin labs last night saying
      "Please update the app to the latest version and then try the firmware update again. Make sure you have a good wifi connection."

      The android version on play store is 3.20 right? the same version since october 5

      Anyone out there was able to update or use radian 2 properly on slider?

      @heinz same here the worst device I've ever bought. It's very frustrating to see that amount of money went to waste (literally), u took 500 euros and burned them. After all these months people complaining and reporting bugs and they keep saying we worked hard we released new firmware and in the end we can't even do the update. When things get to this they should work hard to make their thing functional (harder! coz they say they're "working hard" ) if the devs unable to fix it then hire some one else , now if they're the creators then sorry but u're not up for this u're not playing in ur backyard anymore a lot of people bought this Shit and it's not working Get some good team of developers and let's get this over with once and for all and you can just the the business... U seem pretty good in talking

      Write you here on Kickstarte, because my e-mail was rejected. I don't know why.

      I followed your advice.

      I have deinstalled you app, restarted the phone and reinstalled the app.

      Started my two Radians. Startin the app. The app was asking me if i would apdate the radians. I answer with yes.

      But unfortunately even a half an hour the Update has not started. Please see printscreen in the attachment.

      I also have tried with starting the app first and also both ways with only 1 Radian. Also no success!

      I'm really disappointed about that two radians. It is the really worst croundfunding project I ever supported. And I supported a lot on Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

      Can you please help me bring my two radians to run? It's really soul-destroying, that every single time I touch that devices, they not run properly.

      SO PLEASE HELP ME FINALLY!

      @everyone we have been hard at work on updates for Radian 2 and have recently released a newer version of the app and firmware. Radian 2’s should have improved compatibility and a more robust bluetooth connection on Firmware 16. The app update also fixes the problem where the Radian app could not update the Radian firmware. Please try it out when you can.

      @RodrigueElHajj we’re still definitely working on Radian 2 and would like to provide improvements to it whenever possible.

      @AlexKatz this is something we’ll have to look into further, but can you explain this more to us in an email or message? We do want to make sure one phone should be controlling both devices.

      @DanielThompson We definitely apologize for the long delay in responses. We have been backlogged in customer support but are doing our best to get back to everyone. We hope you’ve seen the latest app update and hope this has been helpful for you! Please let us know if not.

      @JunjiSuzuki we are very sorry for the long delay in replies. Since then, we have updated the firmware and app as mentioned above. Please check it out and let us know if this helps you with your bluetooth connection as it should.

      I personally don't expect much from the dev anymore, and I would certainly not trust their product in the field... I still never used mine ever! couldn't do any single successful time-lapse with it, and as all of you already see no communication at all, and when u ask them to create something or do something for this u can the same answer "it's a great idea", and they do nothing at all.
      After a year struggling with them to make their crappy item work, I got tired, and I think I'm gonna switch to something serious.

      I just feel bad for the people who are going to buy it! This thing is still on their site ....

      Finally got my Radian's to update, it actually went very smoothly :-) ... However I cannot operate both radians at the same time anymore. I could never use them for any two axis movement before, but now I can't even use them independently with the same iOS device. When will STABLE firmware be available for these devices? 2 axis support? I agree with the rest of the commenters, a reply is needed as to where this project is going.

      Since the last version of the app, the firmware update from ios 10 worked fine as opposed to the previous version of the app. The other features of the app works to. I will test it for long terms timelapse to see if there is any glitch. Is there any plan on making other features in the app such as : time panorama mode (to nail a correct superposition with the camera) or a card changer notifier (that calculate when your card should be full and you should change it if you specidy the size of the card and of your photos), or a check list of the gear we need to make it work ? Thanks you

      I can connect with Bluetooth, LED does not light up.
      Do you know how to fix?

      It was not repaired in the following manner.
      > 1. Make sure the Radian is not manually paired in the Bluetooth settings of your phone.
      > 2. Make sure Location services is on
      > 3. Please turn off wi-fi
      > 4. Please turn off your Radian
      > 5. Make sure your app is closed out, and then turn it back on.
      > 6. Plug your Radian into USB power (wall or computer)
      > 7. Choose "Nikon" when prompted which camera system your are using in the app.
      > 8. Go to settings, firmware, then update.
      > 9. It may still give you an error message. Leave it be for a second and see. It should start to update regardless of the message.
      > 10. It should reach 100% and properly update the software.
      > 11. The LED lights will start to blink again.

      Any idea how long that update might take? I tried another TL this week and it randomly stopped (about 20 minutes into a 40 minute session) as it almost always does. I don't want to think about how many shutter activations I've wasted on my 6D, nor indeed the time and frustration.

      I'm still awaiting your promised explanation of what's gone wrong from the start. Radian 2 had (still has) so much promise - but the lack of real openness here over several months doesn't really give me confidence.

      Hey everyone, as reported below there's a problem updating to the latest firmware (v15). This is frustrating on our end as well as we've been heavily testing v15 firmware in the office and it solved a number of Radian 2 issues. We were eager to push it out to everyone but at the moment the update gets stuck or doesn't start (https://alpinelaboratories.com/pages/radian-2-app-firmware-update_s). We're working on this and will let everyone know as soon as we've fixed the uploader. In the meantime the firmware currently on your Radian will allow you to use it normally with the latest Radian App (v3.20).

      Again "Android 6, nexus 5 bla bla bla (not like its ever gonna make any difference)" update stuck at 25 percent.

      Cant update with iPhone 6 or iPad Mini 3 both running iOS 10.2. Just shows 0 or sometimes I get 0%....also the current firmware shown changes between 0,1,11, and 13...really would like to see my Radians work...instead of sitting in a box

      John Link, I had to borrow an Iphone to update my 3 radians. I tried with no luck as you. Customer support said I could mail them in to get the update. That's unacceptable,so I borrowed and an I-phone. Update went smooth after that.This entire process is very frustrating for sure....

      Please be aware that there are some bluetooth connection issues with iOS10 that affect the firmware updating process. We're working on fixing this and will have a full update when we've finished. That said, the App and Firmware are very stable once updated and we wanted to let you guys know it's available before the next full update. There are more specific notes on the page linked above :)

      If you successfully complete the update and notice something that could be added to the page to help other Radian 2 backers and users successfully update their firmware, please let us know and we'll add the info/tip!

      After upgrading my 2 radians to firmware 13 and the new app i have new problems showing up. I use a lumix gh3 and i will report the problems in your google sheet to follow your procedure. 1 - the battery level is incorrect and does not update. 2 - the app show the hour and minute in a vertical and not horizontal way in the time selection menu. 3 - the radian does not notify when the battery is almost dead. 4 - the timelapse is notified as finish but it is not (93% or 98%) and finished itself if you click yes on the notification. 5 - the radian in slide mode in direct drive is shown in degrees not in inches or meters. 6 - the slide mode is not translated in meters, only in inches in timelapse mode. 7 - the hold and time delay button or star on execute are not working on my application : ios 9.3.5 on iphone 5s
      These problems are not show stopper but are a little stuff that need to be improved.
      But the radian in slide mode works pretty great in more than 45 degrees now and does not fall down!!
      I use my two radians 10 times since the update and the results are great. Keep going guys, the device you created is a nice companion in timelapses!

      After updating to firmware 13, the cam now moves in slide mode but it never finishes a time-lapse, they all stop at 66%.
      Canon 6d,nexus 5, android 6.0.1, Canon 24-105 f/4 L used in manual mode, cam also in M mode.

      @EugeneLodermeier We’re aware of this issue and have been creating new firmware in order to fix this! The update should be out in the coming week so please be on the lookout for this!

      @ShaunLee The Gh4 is not usb compatible with Radian 2. I apologize for the confusion, but the GH4 has been on our shutter port compatible list but we currently do not have the capacity to make the GH4 a usb compatible camera. We apologize for the inconvenience!
