Hello ALPHA Backers!

Team ALPHA has been working hard on Pre-production.

We spent the week in China with Koen Geenen of PHILIPS and MIO's Software Engineer Qin Yu.

Here they are, hard at work poring over endless reams of test data and carefully analyzing each circuit board.

We have been subjecting ALPHA to more tortures such as drop tests and electroshock treatment and are of the opinion ALPHA should be ready for life in the "real world" pretty soon.  We will take the next few weeks to fully assess the results of the Pre-Production Run and if satisfied, we will give Mass Production the green flag.  ALPHA backers will be the first to know!

Here are a couple of close ups of the two ALPHA color choices:  Shadow (that's the black one), and Arctic White.

We think both our babies turned out beautifully.   Oh, and some other pretty important people think they did too - but more on that litte secret in a month or so...

It is with real pleasure that we are looking forward to getting ALPHA on your wrists and getting feedback directly from you - the folks that made it happen.

Thank you,

Liz, Manson and Gene

Despite being taken with an iPhone 4 and being on too tight, they look fantastic! Liz you've done such a good job with the look of these, especially considering the mechanical job it has to achieve! Congratulations

Does it really require it to be fastened so tight to make it work? It's clearly constricting in both photos

I think the person wearing Shadow has a sunburn. They look a little extra red.

Oh schnapps, they look pretty spiffy! May I change mine from Arctic White to the Shadow instead?

They really do look great, but if we could get updates on shipping dates. I just want to know whether or not to have this be a virtual gift for my fiancé, or I can give it to her on her birthday.
