We’ve been in the studio for about a year now recording our new album Exile with local producer Daniel Nicholas Daskivich. The album is almost finished, and we are incredibly excited to share it with you! Jeff Lipton of Peerless Mastering—who mastered Fan The Fury, in fact—will return to master Exile, and the cover art will be designed by a local graphic artist. We'll send the master off to be duplicated and then, then you can be among the first to hear the new tracks.
Exile is a little more moody and different from our previous work. This time around we've taken inspiration from our bookshelves and art galleries, and threw in a heavy dose of surrealism. The arrangements go beyond the standard rock band instrumentation and are rich with vocal harmonies, strings, organ lines, brass parts and sound effects. We've been very lucky to have such great friends be featured on the record (namely Dan Daskivich, Jon Schmidt, Charles Murphy, Matthew Girard, Beth Holub, Matt Szemela, Josh Penslar, and Veronica Dicker). We've caught a lot of the recording process on film and you can see what we've been up to on our Studio Journal on YouTube.
Pre-order Exile, and you'll get the music before anyone else. For $15, you'll receive a CD in the mail as well as a digital copy straight to your inbox. You'll also get Exile before the official release date, and we're sweetening the deal with extra digital downloads unreleased bonus tracks. Pre-order today by pledging $15!
With the disappearance of record labels and industry-funded development for artists, we founded our own record label Lemon Merchant Records and invite you to go beyond pre-ordering to help us fund this project. For those of you who are able to put forth more generous financial support for this project, you can make a pledge in any amount. We'll reward your support with fun fan packages, starting at $20! Packages range from a few CDs, to the Box of Aloud, to a signed guitar. We might even show up at your place, guitars in hand!
Perhaps you're on the other side of the financial equation... Completely broke? Consider pledging $1. We honestly, really appreciate it.
As always, your support is greatly appreciated, no matter how little or much you may give financially, and quite frankly, without you there, what we do doesn't matter, so thanks!
And there's more:
Starting at CMJ in October, we are planning our first coast-to-coast tour in support of Exile, with shows already booked in NYC, Colorado, Washington State and California. This is our most expansive tour yet; Aloud will perform in colleges and club venues from Boston to Chicago, to Seattle and Los Angeles and San Diego, through Texas and the South, and back up the East Coast. We're traveling over 6,000 miles in 2 months.
Part of your pledges will go to help fund this tour, and we'd like to see you at the shows! We're reserving two tickets for each pledge over $100 for any concert on this tour. Look for the 'BOSTON BONUS' and/or 'TOUR BONUS' notes in each package to see how your reward will bring us physically closer together... We're offering guest list spots to our CD Listening Party and 1/2 price tickets or free concert tickets during our CD Release Party and Tour. Pledge, and we'll be saying "muchas gracias" in person (or "thanks", or "danke schoen", or in any language you want)!
Keep checking this page at www.allthingsAloud.com for updates on the album & the tour, and as always THANK YOU for your support!
