Campaign Update #77 - Shipping Update Cont.

Posted by Allen Chang (Collaborator)

Hi all, this is Allen again for your weekly shipping update.

US-Bound Shipment

We've had backers notify over the past few days that they haven't received any shipment notification from GTS. Furthermore, some backers have cited they've seen Smiths at their FLGS.

The note I got from GTS regarding fulfilment status (Friday, 20 July) is that they've been waiting for the shipping labels from UPS and that as soon as they have them, fulfilment will commence (I don't know why this wasn't already organised). With regards to some retailers getting retail editions of the game, I was told it was a miscommunication between GTS and UPS. GTS has issued a ceasing of all retail copies of Smiths until fulfilment completes but little can be done with the units that have slipped through in the interim.

Due to much of the exchange I had with GTS happened at the tail end of this week, I still don't have a lot of clarity on the situation. Nevertheless, this was rather disappointing news, to say the least.

The delay has been excruciating for us and our US backers. These mishaps add to the laundry list of things we have to manage, and also damage our reputation and to our service providers. Suffice to say, we would like nothing more than to get these games into your hands and wrap up the project.

For all other regions besides US and Canada, your fulfilment is considered complete.

Support Request

If you have a support request, please send them to

For those that have sent us requests regarding damaged parts, please give us a bit of time to organise them. Our current priority is to help the small number of backers that should have received their parcels but for whatever reason, the parcel hasn't arrived yet.

      Sounds to me like GTS is better at providing excuses than serving as a fulfillment center. Thanks for keeping us informed, but I do wish that you had chosen a better fulfillment company.

      These GTS guys sound like bozos. What fulfillment company doesn't have UPS labels? I worked at a fulfillment place for 2 years and we had pallets of boxes of UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. labels.

      @Justin & Tom - I agree, it stinks to get it later and see it go to retail but it doesn't change how this game will play. That experience is still going to be the same, and sure many people are going to play it before us and even play it in the US before we get ours..but they are coming. R&M and Allen have at least kept us up to date along the whole way and given us the information they have when they have it.

      I get it that people are passionate about this as well, but they shouldn't let something that is out of R&M's hands spoil the experience of a game and company they wanted to support.

      @Tom, very true.
      And thanks to you guys for being open and honest and genuinely disappointed that this happened. Some people will be miffed (for reasons beyond me) about the retailer thing, which seems beyond your control, but as long as I get my game, I couldn’t be happier.

      @Tom: That's a very accurate way to put it!

      Manufacture & shipping can often be like herding cats. Thanks for doing your best, and thanks for keeping us informed.
