Campaign Update #48 - Kickster Exclusives Arrive. Coins expected soon. Base Game in Production.
Hi there backers,
We hope your holidays are going well. We're gearing up for New Years right now here in Australia but I've slipped out to get this update together for you :)
KS Exclusive Item Samples
As the team is all away visiting family and friends, our manufacturers sent the samples direct to Alistair, the Rule & Make manufacturing and logistics guru, while he's down in Tasmania. He's put together the little video above to show you what arrived.
Here's what he had to say this morning as we were discussing the samples:
All is good
- Meeples: Hammer is thicker, overall meeple thickness reduced so in better proportion. Very sturdy. Big improvement.
- Hammer: Feels nice in hand. solid. black is nice, with a tiny amount of shininess.
- Sleeve: Print looks great. semi-gloss finish makes art pop. good quality card
- Pouch: Cotton. feels good. logo is sharp and proportionate. Plenty of room for coins.
After looking at the video above myself, I have to say that I'm personally happy with what has been produced so far. It looks like these final items are good to go and, once the coins have been approved, it's all steam ahead on the final production for the KS-Exclusive items.
Coins Samples Arriving Soon
At the moment, our manufacturering contact is on holidays until tomorrow but from what we've been told, the moulds have been completed and they're perfecting the finishing. We're expecting the samples to be finished this week and on their way to us. Whether they arrive before the next update or not, we can't say for sure, but once we have them, we'll let you know :)
Purchase Order for Base Version Complete
While this sampling process is being finalised with the manufacturers, we put in the purchase order for the base-copies (the copies minus the KS-Exclusive items) last week. That means that Smiths of Winterforge is currently being printed and we expect the base-copies to finish production at the same time as the KS-exclusive items (as there are more components).
That's all for this week. Moving into 2018 with Smiths of Winterforge in production means it won't be long until you're forging your best weapons, armour, and jewellery for the royal court of Winterforge.
Happy New Year,
- Dylan, Aaron, and the Smiths of Winterforge team
