Campaign Update #26 - Limited art sleeve and a slight delay

Hey there backers,

A bit of an up and down week this week so let's get to it.

Manufacturing Delay

I guess we should get this out of the way first. This week, due to back and forth with the rulebook, the results of early playtests with it, coupled with the early delays on beginning the stretch goal art, we will be unable to make our manufacturing deadline to get the game fulfilled in September.

But it's not doom and gloom. According to our schedule, we're pushing the asset delivery to our manufacturer by a month or so to give the team the needed room for polish and to get the rulebook to a good spot. The last thing we want is to rush out a substandard quality game and squander all the hard work the team has put into the project to date.

We are speaking with the layout and graphics team on how we can improve this and make sure it's right and once it is, we'll have it here for you to peruse at your leisure.

If you feel this delay may impact your chosen delivery address, please remember that you can update your address any time before the fulfilment period at https://kickd.net/sowf

Limited Edition Sleeve Art is finished

In great news though, Grzegorz has finished up the stunning landscape piece that will appear on the Limited Edition Sleeve. The piece will go through a light graphic design treatment, adding the Smiths of Winterforge Logo to the front face of the sleeve. Check it out.

That's all for this week. It's back to the grindstone for us to make sure this rulebook comes out in better shape.

Until next week,

- Dylan, Aaron and the Smiths of Winterforge Team

The sleeve art is AWESOME! Any chance we can get a higher res version to use as a desktop?
      =)

That sleeve looks amazing, thanks for the up-front updates!

I agree with the other commenters. I've backed enough KS projects to know delays are to be expected. While I would love to get this game as soon as possible I agree that quality is more important than speed. I would absolutely rather have a well tested and well community checked game than something rushed and sloppy. Everything I have seen so far suggests this could be a fantastic game and I hope you take the time to deliver on that!

My question is, will we see this game this year. If so, great. No dramas. A slight delay? Or a 2018 delay? That's the question. No dramas either way I guess. Quality over quickness imo.

Quality over speed. Never cut on play testing to get a particular deadline you set. I'd rather wait a month or two longer for a well tested game.

As always: quality >>> timely delivery. After all, we are used to delays on Kickstarter anyway! ;) Take all the time you need to deliver us a top game!

Just do a good job and don't worry about "artificial" deadlines.
