Flipcase is a sturdy and collapsible sunglass case that folds up flat when you’re not using it. You’re on the go, and sunglasses are often in transition as you’re constantly taking them on and off. You want to protect your sunglasses, but when you’re wearing them, what do you do with the case? Flipcase solves the problem by collapsing flat for easy storage.
Flipcase was designed to save space.
In case mode, it measures 7” x 2.5” and when collapsed, it’s only ¼” thick so it can slide easily into purses, back pockets, briefcases, etc.
It takes only seconds to collapse/assemble.
To collapse, open the side flaps, and then pop off and straighten the arched piece. The arch has tabs that lock into the side notches keeping the case rigid and strong. Releasing these allows the structure to easily fold flat. Magnets and low profile Velcro on the flaps and tabs keep the case together when folded. A Velcro closure secures the top.
The Flipcase can collapse and be stored in two ways:
Flipcase is made of similar materials found in other protective cases for iPad, phones, etc. Microfiber protects the glasses on the inside, and rigid plastic with a tough polyurethane cover protects the outside. In case mode, the structure is sturdy and sound, and will protect your sunglasses like other hard cases do. See video below.
Design based on User Needs
Sunglasses are cool, but carrying an empty case is not. Both men and women sunglass wearers feel that cases are too cumbersome when not in use. You want to protect your sunglasses, but who wants to hold an empty bulky case? Sometimes this annoyance results in not using a case at all, which results in scratched up and broken glasses. Over twenty prototypes were made and tested with sunglass wearers.
Flipcase fits virtually all sunglasses.
99% of the sunglasses tested fit great! Flipcase fits sunglasses that are up to 2.5 inches in height and 2.5 inches in length (when closed), with up to 7 inches in girth (the measurement around).
A manufacturer is lined up to produce the first batch of Flipcases but your help is needed to kick off the initial order. Prototypes from the manufacturer have been great, and the funding raised would cover the tooling and material costs.

-Will my sunglasses fit?
Yes! 99% of the glasses we tested fit. The case fits sunglasses that are up to 2.5 inches (6.35 cm) in height, 2.5 inches (6.35cm) in length when closed, and with an overall girth under 7 (17.8 cm) inches.
-Can I use Flipcase with regular glasses?
Of course! Flipcase has a larger design, so reading glasses may feel spacious, but you can store any glasses in this case
-Can I put other stuff in here?
Of course! I'd love to see how else you can use it.
