Alien Abduction Game
Unlock the mysteries of the Universe and capture its inhabitants on this fun packed online adventure.
Alien Abduction is a past time online browser based collecting game where you are able to explore the many weird and wonderful planets of the universe and beyond, capturing it's inhabitants and unlocking it's mysteries. Choose to explore the universe alone or with friends, compete in tournaments, upgrade your spaceship and compete to become the best trapper in the land!
Now we all know Earth is a wonderful place and if you ever get chance to visit it you should. However the Universe is much more diverse than your average teapot and therefore we invite you to seek out new life in new galaxies and abduct them! We provide the tackle, all you have to do is discard any common sense you had remaining and jump aboard. Simply connect by creating a free online account, login with a social media account or even play directly through Facebook!
The Universe and it's inhabitants
The aliens that you abduct are unique. Each one is completely different from another, well except for the Weeble twins, but more on them later. So no replication occurs, well maybe the odd bit of cloning is going on, but more on that later as well! Essentially there are 100’s of creatures and each one has its own identity and it’s own part to play in the game. Each has it’s own description and although they may appear to be a bit random, don’t be fooled. There are reasons for everything and connections become apparent as you proceed through our wobbly worlds of mayhem.
Every alien is hand drawn, in a detailed comic book style. Every alien has a home and we have tried to make sure that they are all comfortable and adapted to their environment. The locations are as diverse as the aliens, so there is much to discover. There has been 1000’s of illustration hours, so far, and all for you to enjoy. Mmmm tasty!
On launch there will be over 9 planets and 25 locations to explore with over 100 different species of aliens to catch!
That's just the first chapter! We're currently in the process of planning chapters 3 and 4 and some of the illustrations have already been done. Here's a sneak preview of whats to come!
The Rules are simple. You work for Professor Lardbottom who employs you to capture aliens for his research. Each time you capture an alien you will gain experience as well as Bunga. If you're lucky the alien may drop loot and if you're really really lucky it may even drop some Kremeggs!
So how do you actually play?
There's a big red button. It’s called that because it’s really small, blue and more like a lever. Just kidding! It’s a big button and just like ‘Only in Emergency’ buttons and ‘Danger do not press’ buttons, you will just have to press it. Oh you may try and resist, but you won’t be able to leave it alone. Press it every 15 minutes (that’s 900 Earth seconds) your orb powers your attractor up, an alien is (hopefully) attracted and with a bit of luck, BAM you catch the critter. Too lazy to get up in the wee small hours to press your button? No worries you have drinking bird that will do the job for ya. Every hour, guzzle, guzzle BAM. By the time you wake up you might have a sack load of alien folk. Now how good is that?
Ahh sorry I've got way way ahead of myself, you're probably wondering what on earth I'm on about.
Spaceships, Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you still need ‘em. It’s the only way to travel. I know that’s not strictly true, but it would take a while to cross the universe on roller blades. Spaceships come in different shapes and sizes and the further you get in to the game the more you’re gonna need some ‘fancy Dan’ equipment. A fully functioning spaceship consists of a chassis, engine, attractor (needs orbs) and trap.
At the start of your adventure you will be given a basic spaceship setup. So lets start by telling you about your chassis:
You will then be given the option between two traps:
So you've got your chassis and a 'fancy Dan' trap, but these fellas aren't just gonna stroll in to your net, no siree. You have to make your self attractive. Now don't rush out and cover your face in lipstick, what I mean is you need attractors (Not a tractor, that would be stupid and the farmer would get annoyed). They bring em in close, then, whoosh, quicker than a trotta on skates, you grab 'em. You need power for your attractor, these are called orbs, you can find em lying around, buy 'em at reputable outlets and dodgy outlets too! There are currently 12 known orbs, all of which have unique properties, the most powerful been the Deeluchs Orb. You will be given a Rydon Attractor and some Piro orbs.
Each spaceship setup with accompanying orb has unique properties to help you capture specific aliens using a combination of Attraction, Power and Luck. Different planets provide different challenges, for instance if the surface of a planet was covered in soup you might need a completely different kind of set up to survive there, a giant spoon could be advantageous perhaps. Sometimes you have to leave your spaceship behind (please don’t cry, I know separation can be hard) and use other modes of transport that you've brought with you. I personally like to tootle about on my floaty scooter but I’m that kind of guy. Even though you will be able to see your spaceship's properties, some setups will perform better in certain locations and with certain aliens but that's for you to discover.
For example it might be a good guess to presume the setup on the left performs well in heavily foliaged areas, maybe give this a try in the forests of Ohk? Considering you haven't already been swallowed by a Sticla. You may even have to scrap the spaceship chassis completely to explore the sea of planet Ahseed!
As you travel the universe you will come across a range of retail outlets, where you can upgrade all components of your spaceship and even purchase vehicles for accessing trickier terrain. You will also be able to purchase power ups to help increase your setups Power, Luck or Attraction.
Later in the game more experienced hunters will even have the chance to craft their own items such as the Guddarro Trap.
Waldo's Shop is the first of many shops where you can purchase fuel, as well as a heap of other stuff from traps to tophats and teapots. Waldo's is for the discerning customer who knows what they want but will probably end up with something they don't. Then there's Tittitibbs Hypermarket, run by the infamous Tittitibbs; now he's one mysterious fella. The list goes on.
So, are you ambitious, handsome (or beautiful), intellectual and charming? This game has your name written all over it. Are you useless, ugly, fairly dim and have no mates? Even better you'll love it.
You see this is a sport for everyone, made by anybody, for somebody by no one. Which is why you, my dear nocturnal puppet, are up for the task. We feel like we have created an exciting and engaging game like no other and we want you to be part of the adventure now!
Work began on Alien Abduction over two years ago now, you were probably a small child then, but look at you now, what a handsome beard. Anyway it's time for you to meet the team!
We love what we do. We’ve toiled over sketch books, laptops and beer mats. We’ve already dedicated two years of our life and some of our after life to this project and not for a penny! It’s not been easy finding the time, we've had work, some of us have had to raise families and even raise bread. But we can see the light, it’s suspended on a bit of cable from the ceiling, and we are going to get there. Every piece of this massive jigsaw has been manufactured voluntarily and lovingly put together, we put the corners in first, then found all the blue sky bits and we’re nano seconds away from seeing the full picture and it’s a thing of beauty. With your help it will allow us to put the time into finish the jigsaw. We hope that there are others out there that share our vision, passion and drive to achieve something special and are enthusiastic about the universe we have created. We really want you to be part of this wacky adventure, so please give us a hand and make our dream become a reality. We want you to see this thing of beauty too. Come and join us, it's going to be one hell of a ride.
With your help in a few months time we hope to have the game ready for testing. We will be releasing the first few planets and their inhabitants to all of our lovely Beta testers. This means we need good reliable hosting to make testing a fun and smooth experience with no bugs! Then it’s lunch time. Can I have a tuna Panini melt? Then it’s launch time. Now you and me know that this is probably going to be the greatest adventure of all time but even so great adventures can go unnoticed without the right promotion. We need to promote the game, we want everyone to know about it, so I’ve printed some leaflets and posted them down our street, but we need to think bigger than that, so I’ve enlarged the leaflets to A3 size and dropped them from a plane over the city centre*, still not big enough, you get the idea. BIG PROMOTION. We want thousands of space cadets marauding our galaxies, what a space race that would be!
*Your money will not be spent on hiring planes or purchasing A3 leaflets (don't you worry). We plan on using your money to market the game in the most efficient way.
More funding means more promotion and also means we will be able to invest more time in creating new content! We know the story line and where we want to take this game, your donations mean we can make that a reality. More aliens, planets, traps and furry dice! We would also love to do merchandising such as soft toys, card games, genetically modified sketch books, that sort of thing. When it takes off (that sounds confident) we’ll give out prototypes to our highest donors. Imagine owning a cuddly magus. We may also look at other platforms for the game and how could I forget I could always do with a ferrari to carry my pencils and sketch pad in*. It really is in your hands (and ours).
*No Ferrari's will be purchased. Maybe a new sketch pad however.

All backers will have have their name put in the Spagetium, an ancient much revered holy book. It is a book of contradictions. It is a book that creates questions and has no answers. It is a book that has cartoon drawings of folk in bright trousers. In essence it is a book full of pages, pages full of words and words full of funny little marks that are neither words or sketches of moustaches (these are simply funny little marks that have been misinterpreted as pieces of wisdom). Can a scribble be anything of importance? Does an author need to write? And what are the chances of you being in this book? Unless everything in this space we call the universe is just a repeat, and if it is, you will have already read this and played your part.

Risks and challenges
The only risk with this project is that it may take longer to complete than planned. We can plan schedules and set timelines but the quest for perfection means that you have to be prepared to make changes. Refining and evaluating what we create adds time but it adds quality and the wait will be worth it. We want to deliver something way beyond your expectations!
The game is expected to be ready for Beta testing in March 2015 and hopefully will be ready for public release in May 2015. All prizes will have been delivered before the games release.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
