My name is Alice Bag. I'm known primarily as a punk performer but I've been singing professionally since I was eight years old, recording songs for bilingual cartoons in East LA. Over the years, I've been in a lot of bands, ranging from the early LA punk of The Bags, to the death rock of Castration Squad; from the post-punk funk of Cambridge Apostles to the retro-soul of Swing Set in the 1980's; from the queer punk-pop of Cholita to the feminista folk of Las Tres and Goddess 13 in the 1990's. After taking a brief hiatus from music following the birth of my daughter, I returned to my punk roots with Stay at Home Bomb and the She-Riffs.
In 2011, Feral House published my autobiography, Violence Girl, A Chicana Punk Story: From East LA Rage to Hollywood Stage. I followed that up with a self-published book entitled Pipe Bomb for the Soul in 2015 but through it all, music has remained my first love. Thanks to the Kickstarter community, I was able to realize my dream of recording an album of my songs in 2016. That record, 'Alice Bag' was released on Don Giovanni Records and I've been touring across the U.S. for the past year in support of it.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
I've got a whole new batch of songs that I can't wait to share with you. I'm keeping the funding goal modest; I pay the musicians, sound engineer and producer, so every penny counts. I'm not a fan of corporate backing for the arts (especially when my music is critical of the establishment), but I do believe that a small, engaged community can achieve big things.
Your pledge will not only fund the recording and production of the album, it will be used to pay and feed the artists involved and generate some unique premiums that are being created especially for this campaign.
Everyone can help in some way. It's not all about money - please share this Kickstarter campaign and help me spread the word.
PREMIUMS - WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
Here is a sample of what our brand new Alice Bag enamel pin, created especially for this Kickstarter campaign will look like:
Alice Bag 1.5 inch soft enamel pin created by David Aguirre (Pinetration-Para la Raza), from an original painting by artist VK Seven! SO MIND-BLOWING. YOU GOTTA HAVE THIS PIN.
We also have the very popular 1.5" metallic finish pin, designed by Martin Sorrondeguy (pictured above) from an original photo by Louis Jacinto, Violence Girl books (signed), Pipe Bomb for the Soul books (signed), LP's and CD's (also signed as you wish). Take a look at my premiums - we have plenty to choose from, including this cute tote/book bag with artwork by Martin Sorrondeguy, from an original photo by Gibert Leos.

Risks and challenges
As with all Kickstarter projects, this is all or nothing. The songs are already written and the arrangements are mostly worked out. The next phase is team rehearsal of the various musicians involved and then recording, engineering, mastering and pressing. The risk is if we don't hit our target, none of this will happen. So, let's not let that happen.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
